Digital speedometer display not working - 2011 Chevrolet Equinox

They should have checked the wires that power the speedometer. The corresponding fuse should have also been checked as well. And lastly, the dash display or speedometer should have been replaced and new one tested to check if the display itself was the issue or was it the parts connected to display (ie wires). You might ask a mobile mechanic to do this for you.

In general most modern cars use a speed sensor in the transmission to send an electronic pulse to the car's computer which is then sent to the speedometer's step motor ( standard dial with needle ) or to a digital display. Failure can occurs at several places in these systems. If your cruise control still works that rules out problems with the speed sensor and all connections through and including the computer. Likely problem would be in a connection between the computer and the speedometer or the speedometer head itself may be in need or repair or replacement.

open the hood and find the speedometer cables according to your auto's manual, check to see if they are securely connected to the ports on back of speedometer. if this doesn't work. find the function button front of speedometer press and hold while starting engine, will enter function mode,press button repeatedly untill you come to auto. press and hold button untill "-" appears then release button , unit will show on screen,wait untill a line of zero's appear on screen then drive around untill you go over one mile, stop the car and press the function button again,the speedometer is now recalibrated this usually fixes many errors

UNLESS IT'S A DIGITAL DISPLAY SPEEDO.IT WILL BE THE OLD FASHIONED CABLE THAT IS BAD HOPE THIS HELPS

Most common is the speedometer, for you speedometer issue. As for your radio display. If the radio works but has no display, then it's a radio problem not a fuse.

there is a speed sensor in the trans it is on the left side near the shifter linkage check that first

There is a back-light bulb, pull the cluster out to replace it, it may be a special high lum bulb so check with the dealer for the correct bulb part number or look it up on the web.

Take the car to a rebuttable garage or GM repair facility and have them scan your car's computer for diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs). Their scanner will be able tell if the problem in your digital display (assuming you have one), or if the problem is in the power-train.

If you do not have a digital display, then the problem is more than likely that the speedometer cable, on the back of the speedometer, has come off.
