DID THE BELT BREAK AND THEN IT WAS CHANGED. If so then you may have bent valve. IF NOT then vehicle may be timed wrong. Sign up for an account on hmaservice.com. Once you do so, log in and click on "Shop". You can then enter your year/make/model and you will find the info under, engine mech. system>timing system>timing belt>repair procedures. Very detailed, and best of all, FREE.

SOURCE: 2000 hyundai accent need timing
Timing marks are in the circles. Make sure belt is tight on right side when marks are aligned, then release tensionser to take up slack on the left side. Thanks for using fixya.
