SOURCE: 2006 Pontiac G6 GTP window auto close/open

OMG. I replaced the battery in my 06 G6 and had the same problem. the windows would not roll up or down how they did before. I read the answers on here and it does work. Hold up the window switch for ten seconds and it resets. You will have to do it to each window. Worked great. Thanks

SOURCE: how much to change a oil pan gasket for 2001 grand prix 3.8 gt

If you want to repair the oil pan I would also check lower engine mount for leaking oil and cracks in anti sway bar near fitting's. This due to engine mount is oil filled. OEM sway bar is made of tubular steel and they crack easy. Replacement sway bar is solid steel. Here's the kicker. When they pull the lower frame to service oil pan. The engine mount and sway bar are attached to that frame. A honest mechanic should only charge for parts ($35 for mount and $100 for sway bar) and maybe a extra hour. My mechanic did all in 5 hours. FYI gasket is only $35 bucks. Good luck

SOURCE: where is the dip stick located for the

Unfortunately their isn't a dipstick, their is a red cap on top for adding fluid and the way to check it is to have it running up in the air and remove a small plug from the pass side of the trans. after removing the plug with the engine running, add fluid and make sure its dexronVI , to the fill hole until it comes out of the bottom hole and thats how you check and fill it, I know it sucks..

2007 pontiac g6 transmission filter replacement

Remove the transmission pan - some don't have drain plugs, have a big pan underneath to catch the fluid. Pull filter and install filter on. Clean any debris from pan. Install gasket onto pan and install pan back onto transmission. Torque bolts to factory specs. Fill with approved ATF.

Hope this is helpful :-)

Where are the camshaft actuator valves located on a 2006 Pontiac G6 GTP 3.9L V6

I believe you are thinking of the wrong kind of valve. You do not have solenoid valves, you have mechanical valves that open and close off of the lobes of the camshaft.

I have a 2000 grand caravan that i need to gange the oil pan gasket , it is a 3.0 v6 , the transmission is covering the bolts on one end of the pan , i cannot see the bolts let alone get to them , how do i...

I do not have a picture yet, but the labor time to replace this gasket is less than less than 1 hour factory time, and about 1.5 hours chilton time. This is for a 2000 model V6..You are saying that you cannot access all bottom pan bolts?..

Removing and replacing an oil pan gasket is a relatively easy task, even for a novice.

Please follow the instructions and you'll have no problem/

  1. Raise the front of the vehicle at least two feet off the ground and support with jack stands.
  2. Drain the oil from the oil pan.
  3. Remove the oil level sensor connector.
  4. Remove the oil pan retaining bolts.
  5. Remove the oil pan.
  6. Remove the oil pan gasket and discard. The gasket CANNOT be reversed.
  7. Clean the oil pan and the cylinder blaock mating surfaces.
  8. Install the new gasket to the oil pan flange.
  9. Replace the bolts and torque to 124 lb. in.
  10. Connect the oil level sensor.
  11. Add the correct amount of oil.
  12. Start the vehicle and check for leaks.

That's the entire process.

How much will it cost for a mechanic to change oil pan gasket on my 1998 chevy blazer 4wd big v6 engine?

Gasket = $35 (permatex rubber)
Labor - my manual says 3 hours.
You'll have to be responsible for figuring out the labor price per hour depending on where you are located.
In MI, a garage is about $50/hr, and dealership = $85/hr
CA might be $95/$150/hr.

Parts are minimal on the job - its all labor.
Figure in about $20 for shop supplies... gasket remover, sealant, rags, etc.

Leaking gasket of tining belt

do you have a 3.1L V6? The timing cover gasket seals the timing components, it is located behind the belt drive system (alt, a/c, p/s etc.) all of these components must be removed to change this gasket, also the oil pan lower seal gets changed at the same time. The oil pan gasket includes the rear pan seal and the side seals and on for the rear of the pan, the engine must be lifted out of it mounts to change this gasket. It takes time to do these repairs and each shop has an hourly rate per hour on labor. The cost of the parts will be relatively the same at any shop, labor will differ. I hope this helps to answer your questions.
