It could be a vacuum line or the fuel filter itself put some STP gas treatment in a half a tank of gas if the condition improves change the fuel filter

Stalls out when the gas pedal is hit

Pull a spark plug. Is it black? Stalling on acceleration. Possible cause: vacuum leak; can be detected by spraying water on suspected area. Will produce sound as if drinking from a near empty cup with a straw.
Possibly throttle position sensor. When they go bad, they have a tendency to tell the ecm to release more fuel than needed, flooding the engine, and killing your gas mileage.

Car stalls when gas is low

Hello, There is plastic baffle in the gas tank that keeps a supply of gas for the fuel pump. The baffle breaks and when fuel supply is low there will not be sufficient gas and the engine will stall. To repair will need a new tank.

Where is the fuel filter on a 91' Ford Thunderbird?

On a 1991 Ford Thunderbird with a 5.0 V8, the fuel filter is on the bottom of the passenger floorboard just behind the front wheel. Turn the car on and open the trunk. Behind the carpet on the drivers side of the trunk, there is an inertial fuel cut-off switch. This is triggered if/when the car flips over or hits something really hard. Disengage this cut-off while the car is running. It will lower the pressure in the fuel line and the engine will die. Disconnect the battery under the hood. The fuel filter has a splash guard covering it. Remove the two bolts and un-fasten the quick-connects on either side of the filter. Save the two clips unless the new filter came with new ones. Remove the old filter put the new filter on and replace the retaining clips and the shield. Connect the battery, engage the inertial switch, and start 'er up. Should turn over for quite a few seconds until the fuel fills the filter and lines.

1991 Thunderbird 5.0 V8 how to change a fuel pump

The fuel pump is part of the fuel sending unit. Which is located underneath the fuel tank. Purchase a Haynes Repair Manual for your year Tbird.

91 firebird won't stay running

you must not add gas, you must drain all the gas from the tank and fuel pump and clean the carburator also the spark plugs. then put a new gas.
