Have ford s-max with dtc code F00616 what does if mean?

It is a common misconception that the instrument cluster self test gives DTC's for the engine management system, it provides cluster related DTC's on test 10 of the cluster self test, DTC should be displayed above the code, these will be displayed at 1 second intervals, once you press OK again the cluster will scroll to the next test, the format of the codes shown in the cluster is designed for Ford engineering and can only be translated into usable codes by Ford IDS.

The only way to find out why the engine management light is on is to have a scan of the engine management control module carried out using an appropriate code reader, this will give you the standard EOBD codes for example a catalyst efficiency code would show P0420. If you want to do this on a DIY basis then cheap code readers are available on the internet for around $75.00, these code readers also reset the light after the fault has been fixed. if this was helpful please leave me good feedback

On the sceen to the radio of my 1998 Chevolet Venture it says "LOC" what does that mean?? I just bought the van and it wont start at all and thats they only thing that is wrong with it. Please...

Hi , LOC means radio is locked....1. You can retrieve a set of factory numbers in the radio that enable you to get a unlock code . If it says INOP you will have to leave the key in the ON position or let the car run for at least an hour before you attempt any unlock procedure .INOP means a secondary theft lock due to too many attempts to unlock radio........2. look at the face of your radio and hold down the preset buttons 1 and 4 or 2 and 3 ( depending on year and model , if 1+4 don't work use 2+3, ) for about 10 seconds or until a set of 2 or 3 numbers come up on the display. Write these numbers down.......3. Next press the AM/FM button, a new set of numbers will now show. Write these numbers down. You will then need to call an 1-800 no. with the numbers you have written down to get the unlock code. Try calling a GM dealer and ask them to do it for you, or some sites on internet will get for you for a fee.....4. Once you have the unlock code enter it by pressing the MIN button until display shows the last 2 digits of the unlock code, then press the HR button until the first 2 digits of of unlock code are shown. Then press the AM/FM button to enter the code. The radio will now display SEC and normal function is restored.

I have an '01 PT Cruiser with 115,000 + miles. The car runs fine for about 15 miles then stalls. Car will not start for about 10-15 minutes. When car starts, it runs perfectly for another 10-15 miles. I...

If you have an electronic display in the bottom half of your odometer (speedometer) try getting the fault code displayed...key in the ignition (do not try to start the car) then switch from off, then on, then off, then on then off then on and leave on...take note of the four digit number(s) prefixed with a letter (most often a 'P') in the bottom display. P0340 for example means a dead cam sensor fault. My guess is that it is your cam sensor that is faulty rather than the crank sensor as mentioned, but read the codes and then simple post the number on google ("Chrysler PXXXX error code") to find the explanation of what it means. A couple of bolts (supplied) and about $30 for new cam sensor is all that should be needed

"P done" means there are no codes stored. If there were codes you would see P and 4 numbers.

Knock sensor circuit

The code means there is a problem in the knock sensor circuit, that means the the knock sensor connector wire pins may have a problem, the wiring to the sensor may be damaged, or the PCM may have a problem, and of course the sensor itself, I have one question did you tighten the sensor to the proper inch pound setting of torque? if not this can cause a code to set because the sensor does not vibrate as designed to send a signal of a engine knock/ping.
