SOURCE: 98 Chevy pickup brake lights just stopped working

have you tried to find the brake pedal switch? follow the brake pedal under the dash and there should be a switch that the brake pedal presses to activate the lights when you push it in . if everything else has been checked then I suspect that the switch has moved enough to not work or it may be just bad. let me know if this was it.... hope this works

Tail lights don't work and instrument panel won't light up on 2007 corolla

you blew a fuse. check fuses in both fuse boxes..
ahh yes, the IP cluster lamps are dad, but not the idiot warning lights
only the parking lights in the cluster are dead. right.?
and the park-tail, running lights and dash dim lights are all the same.
my guess three is a short on the TAIL fuse, the TAIL fuse blew
and took out: park-tail, running lights and dash dim lights are all the same.
it blew. most are marked tail even thought it runs side lamps and front parking lamps... TAIL is wrong, they are parking. lamps it truth.

None of the blinkers work on my 1996 dodge stratus, all bulbs are good as the park lights and flashers work. I have three dead ports in fusebox under hood.

Guessed it's a V6. Trying to sort this out. If setting the headlamp switch to PARK turns on the park filaments of the front park/turn signal lamp and the tail filaments of the rear tail/stop lamps and the separate tail lamps, the park light circuit is good. If 20A fuse 6 in the power distribution center is OK, the combination flasher in the multifunction switch is receiving power. Power is directed to the turn signal lamps by operation of the turn signal/hazard warning switch. If the turn signals are not flashing, the combination switch may have failed or the turn signal flasher part of the combination flasher may have failed. Finally, the hazard warning switch causes the turn signal elements of the front combination park/turn signal lamps and the rear turn lamps to flash.

No tail lights

Power comes from 15A fuse 28 in the fuse junction panel. If 15A fuse 20 in the battery junction box is OK, Turning the headlamp switch to PARK position applies power to the park filaments of the combination rear park/stop lamps. Pressing the brake pedal applies 12V to the hi-mount stop lights and the stop filaments of the combination rear park/stop lamps.

2007 Jeep Grand Cherokee tail light problem. When the lights are turned on the rear right tail light and blinkers do not work. When the lights are turned off they work like normal. A ground issue maybe?...

hello Anon.
battery charged, fuses good, F10 is RR. park
trailer wring hacks? (inspections find that) and collision damage there RR.
does RF work with RR fails>? both ends of car have park and blink.
I avoid Tail word for that one fact.
if you scan the PCM with a scan tool, are there DTC errors.
not scanning makes work 10x harder.!

"rear right tail light and blinkers do not work." both are dead? "and"
then turn off parks and blinks start working?
maybe the parks and blink wires shorted to gether.
what does not work mean, dead, or stuck on?
all key facts in diagnosis. all that.
i have 2007 GC FSm.

there are 4 elements (lamps actual there)
park is seperate from blink , totally.

the MIP module under hood drives turns off sperate drivers.
LF, RF ,LR, RR. so RR is bad. and not related to front like old cars.
park feed
all park lines go to a single point, the park relay 7 output.
so if something shorts to park all parks mess up.
each line has a fuse. so each can die by self.
There is only 1 park relay #7

so my question is, do any other park lamps mess up.
you said the blinks and parks (tail) do not work.
so? what about all park lamps. side and front.

if only RR fails, no other symptoms, i concur, bad ground. there.

a volt meter can measure bad grounds
with wire to battery neg,
and red meter at ground on lamp base.
if not 0v, or less than (0.5v) a 1/2 volt, its bad.

THe truck won't go pass 1400 rpm, the speedometer doesn't work, the cruise doesn't work, the engine break doesn't work. I have to turn the truck off going down the road at highway speed for about 10 seconds and it'll go back to normal. Can anybody help?

What started this mess? tailights, fog lights, brake lights....

The relay has nothing to do with the tail lights, but replacing the switch sounds like a good idea. There's a nut holding it in place, see http://www.skandix.de/en/spare-parts/electrics/switches/switch-headlight/1027524/ to get an idea of the construction. And the price. This is not worth fiddling about unreliable workarounds...
In addition, if fuses 15 and/or 16 burn frequently there might be a problem with the tail light cabling.

Good luck

Could you take out a bulb and with a testlight/probe check that you do in fact have power to that circuit .Also check that they are the correct bulb for that application I have seen people put indicator bulbs in where therse supposed to be a double filament bulb.Does the base of the bulbs lead contacts line up with the two steel terminals inside the plug?
