open the blled valve and try to compress, if it does not compress make sure your emergency barke is not on, if it's not on then compress calipers if it won't compress you may have a sticking caliper,if sticking remove one caliper and push the brake pedal down it should dislodge the stuck brake caliper if not you have a bad master cylinder check valve.

I had the 1990 pontiac grand prix and learned of this the hard way myself. if I remember correctly there was a specialty wrench (very cheap in price and simply made) you can buy or loan out at the parts house. the brake piston has to screw back in while the outer portion of the piston remain still, something like that. its been ten years but I remember getting the tool needed and it all made perfect sense and wasnt a bad job to do after all. very easy. the rear brakes were made that way because of the emergency brake.

Yes they screw in. You need a tool to do this. Most parts stores have them. It looks like a 1 inch square with small pins coming off of it.

Get a pad spreader or C-clamp leave the old pad on the piston and compress it. If you have a strong grip big channel locks will also work
