Question about 1996 Nissan Sentra
Brake light not coming on when i put my foot on the brake
First ting to check is the fuse, (Stop Lamp) Then check the the brake switch it is on the pedal, be sure to check that when the pedal is released the switch is depressed there is normally a small circular plastic fitting that tends to break off after some years. This allows the rod on the switch to pass through a small hole hence preventing it from activating the stop lamp, Also be sure that bulbs are not blown, because usually if the switch is faulty the stop lamps stay on until the bulbs are blown.

Sounds like that the brake sender diode/relayis faulty, these are under the brake pedal in the front of the car, usually and easy fix
