SOURCE: Battery keeps dying out. I

you could possibly have a blown fuseable link in between the altenator and battery.a fuseable link is a hard piece of rubber that has a fuse inside of it. the rubber is an insulator. when you locate it, the rubber will be burnt hard and very dry. it will crack under pressure is one way to check it and you will have several of those links, links to different electrical components. one easy way to check if your altenator is charging is with the engine running, remove the positive cable from battery[ careful not to ground it or let it touch any metal] if car dies, altenator charge is not going to the battery. hope this helps and thank you for choosing fixya.com

I have a 99 mercury grand marquis ls the battery light flashes on and off while I'm driving not repeatedly maybe about four times while I'm driving had the alternator checked it was good repla

Battery may have broken plates in cells or cracked plates. May show battery is good , but i would replace it.
Also, starter solenoid may be bad, replace starter as needed.

Not getting enough fuel to the engine in a ford expedition

I assume the battery is "good" because it has been properly tested? I hope so. It sounds like a failed alternator to me. Faulty batteries are the #1 cause of alternator failures followed by the alternator bearings and/or brushes being just plain worn out.

If you believe the battery is good because you recently replaced it, a failing alternator might be what killed your other battery.

Bad batteries kill alternators, bad alternators kill batteries. These couples either love each other or hate each other...there is no such thing as simply getting along....

Try doing a "Brain Kill" on the van. Disconnect both battery terminals, and (MAKE SURE THEY ARE NOT CONNECTED TO THE BATTERY!!!!!) touch and hold them together for at least 10 seconds. Mopars hold onto their faults, even after the repairs. Huge problem for transmission shops, but that's another topic. My 99 Dakota had the Speed Sensor fail, and it wouldn't shift until I "Killed" the ECM and BCM's memories.

Good Luck!!!

Dead battery, ford says it is the alternator, battery is 4.5 years old, never had an alternator problem before

The battery life is near its end too. It can be the alternator, jump start your car, and remove the jumper cables, if the engine cuts out it is the alternator. If it keeps goind for a while and the battery indicator light is off, it is the battery.

start the vehicle up and unhook the pos cable from the battery if it dies its going to be a bad alternator or the battery has gone bad.one sure way to know if its the alternator is to un hook the pos cable while the car is running.they can test good even when they arent.

Charging system keeps killing alternaters what is the proplem

Most likely the battery was bad before replacing the alternator. Usually one can cause the other to fail. If you have a bad alternator and it's been charging the battery with low voltage for some time, the new alternator can actually "kill" the battery. If the battery is older, usually I replace it when replacing the alternator.
