Question about 2007 Pontiac G6 GT Convertible
The oil sender is not leaking, My oil levels are not low but my oil light keeps coming on and then it goes off. I can turn my car off and it will go off and stay off for a while sometimes a day sometimes a few hrs sometimes a few moments. I have took the car to a few mechanics and the all have given me different diagnosis and at this point I don't feel comfortable letting any of them work on it
Probably the oil sensor
I had an oil change and the mechanic cracked my sensor which was causing the oil light to come on

Well try this on the pontiacs there is a reset procresure ....If you have change your oil lately and the procresure has not been activated then it need to be or you need a oil change asp with the right oil for that model of car check the book that came with the car or the dealership that service those cars. But you don't have to let them change your oil...you can purchase the right oil and filter and let someone else do the labor with pay. CarX only charge me $10 but have them to return your empty containers after they say the job is done it they stall ....Check to see whats going on at that shop. Talk to you La Da!!

I had the same problem this winter. The head gaskets were blown, took the block apart and replaced all the gaskets. Cost about 300 - 400 in parts and took one full day to finish with 3 men who aren't particularly experts but who aren't rookies to say the least.

SOURCE: My low oil level light comes on
on my 2000 gtp my low oil dummy light was on due to the wires being cut from the oil pressure sending unit....like an 02 sensor type style plug hanging out of the oil pan....sending unit could be bad also....

ok. oil ight is probably nothing more than a faulty pressure switch. You can have pressure checked at same screw in port. 15psi is ok...just. very cheap to replace. Ign control module is probably the cut-out fault. You cant really test it; repair by substitution is the trick.
