Doesn't want to turn over, or doesnt want to run even though it turns over? If it turns over but just wont "catch", then you most likely have a problem with your anti bleed back valve in you fuel injection system. The system isn't holding the proper fuel pressure for a warm start.

SOURCE: 1995 F150, 5.0 ltr. Always starts when cold. Drive

If it has the ignition module attached to distributor with 2 small hex head screws, and plug in harness to it. ( 4'-5" long x 1-1/2"- 2" wide approx.) I would change it. That was a common symptom of those.

it is possable/likely a bad ECTS (engine coolant tep. sensor), this can cause the injectors to allow to much fuel into cylinders and cause a low compression and or flooding situation, good luck, marty

SOURCE: 2003 Ford Ranger hard to start when cold. must

you may just have a weak battery, or a battery that is not designed for the cold. I would recommend having your battery test at your local autoparts store.

Sounds like EGR(Exhaust Gas Recirculation) issues. As this is a second-generation of OBD(On Board Diagnostics), it will need to be thoroughly inspected by somebody with a bi-directional scan tool.

bad battery. as temps go down, so does the cranking amps of battery. Replace battery with more cranking amps if possible.

P2285 code 6.0 litre ford deisel long cranking before starting after starts runs great but oil pressure gauge drops at idle

bad bearings on crank or worn oil pump. Pressure will be up when cold, but will drop when engine warms up. Check for knock in lower end. If so, bad crank bearings.

I have a 2002 chev silverado 2500HD duramax 4x4, The truck starts only when given a shot of quick start in the airbox. After it runs great you can shut it off then re start it fine. It will not start...

You need new glow plugs. Im guessing you live somewhere kind of cold maybe. It starts just fine after running because the motor is already warm. Quick start will work.....or at least it did for me until I used one mornig and went to crank and BOOM. It blew my air filter case to pieces and caught the filter on fire. Starting fluid is not meant for diesel motors. If you cant afford new glow plugs what worked for me is turn on the key all the way but dont crank wait 10 sec then repeat a few times and it should crank unless its really cold out or the plugs are really bad. Trust me thats what it is. I replaced mine and now It cranks right up even when its super cold.

It sounds like your battery is weak. How old is it? More than 3 years.. should be changed..

When weather is mild, it's fine. As it gets colder, not only does the oil thicken up and require more effort to move, but the battery puts out less amperage. If battery is fairly new.. there is still enough power to crank engine. But if battery starts off weak, and then is near frozen, and a higher than usual demand is placed on it... (very cold oil) and in addition it needs to supply power for a strong spark..

You may note that many commercials for auto batteries emphasize COLD cranking amps..
Note that it's possible the starter is also weak, but you say it cranks over just fine if it's still slightly warm... A new battery should do the trick.

The car runs well until it gets hot ,it begins to loose power, then is stuter, then shut off. the car makes a coughing -like sound when it shuts off

could be your crank angle sensor to test .turn car on then let it warn up till it cuts out then tip cold water or hose for a couple of mins on the crank angle sensor then stop water and turn car on . if it buggard it will start as when the crank angle senors breaks or is on its way out it will start then idle for a bit then splutter run **** then stall with the cold water it instantly makes it cold again so it will start straight away and repeat the same process of stallin when warm

if it shuts off after running for a while and will not restart for about 10 min,a bad crank sensor will cause this. abad crank sensor will make car shut off and not restart for about 10 min. put a scanner on to make sure. a check engine light does not allways come on. if you do not have a scanner, any auto parts store will scan it for free.
