Sounds like you have a wiring problem. Did you recently install an alarm or stereo?

My 2001 xterra started making a weird sound between 20 and 35 mph. It sounds like there is a leak in some pressure system.

Common Car Noises and Their Likely Causes Noise More Details Likely Cause Fixing It Clicking noise while turning Starts faint, gradually becomes more noticeable until very loud Failed outer CV joint (constant velocity joint) due to torn boot (most likely) or old age Replace either the whole axle assembly (recommended) or the outer CV joint Water pump noises Difficult to diagnose because of water pump's location Noise usually caused by damage to the bearings in failed water pump Only cure is replacing it. If possible do it at the same time as a timing belt replacement to cut down on labor costs Squeak or squeal from an engine belt Loud, high-pitched squeak or squeal Belts either need adjustment or replacing If belts only squeak when damp, they probably just need adjustment. When I accelerate forward from a comp stop my car makes a loud grinding/screeching by the front driver side. Once running the noise stops but until it catches speed it makes the sound. What is that?

It could be several things, and I'm going to assume that the vehicle is front wheel drive.

First possibility is the constant velocity joint on the driver's side is worn out.

Second possibility is the wheel bearing on the driver's side.

As to the shaking at 70+mph, you may have an alignment problem, or some issues with the suspension components on that side of the car.

Does the noise get worse when accelerating from a stop, and turning, at the same time?

Constant loud humming from front of hyundai gets

If the noise get louder as you speed up, it is possibly a wheel bearing, needs checking out by a mechanic.

Loud grinding noise front end while driving. Hub bearing? Started a few weeks ago but not so extreme and usual only when turning. Now it is a loud metal grinding sound almost constant and seems to get...

Probably so. When making a left hand turn, if the noise gets loader, it is the right side bearing. IE... putting more wieght on that side of the car.

Tappets are constantly loud when driving 1993 BMW 318i

How is the oil level in the engine? Have you actually checked that? Also, what kind of oil (and what weight) are you running in the engine, and how many miles are on the car? You may be running oil that is too thin for the amount of wear on the engine parts! oil leaks cause low oil levels!

Constant beep even while driving and when i turn it off it still beeps unless i disconect the interior lighting fuse and plug it back in fuse # 8 i believe. if i leave the fuse out it makes a wierd sound...

1995 GrCher Orvis - I have now just started with the same problem. An incessent loud high pitched alarm sound. Identical fuse, ignition on/off, and ticking issues. Can start jeep, warning sounds as normal followed by incessent tone, I can remove fuse to get quiet, but then when I close the door I get the identical alarm sound, but with a slight pause. Tone. Tone, Tone, etc. I can't figure. Tore through all components of dash: to learn that the alarm seems to emminate from the transmission floor area, and is not in the instrument panel (f up #1) nor is it behind the dashboard (f up #2). I'm stuck now... Anybody got something for me? Is it a transmission warning?

Loud clicking noise when 4wd is engaged on left wheel when turnin

Check your cv (constant velocity joint) , It may have a big clearance which is the source of the noise when turning left or right and when 4wd is engage. Juts like front wheel drive cars, if the cv joint is with clearance it will tend to sound in the left or right turns. It is not exactly clicking sound , nmore like knocking sound , low in pitch, but not heavy.
