There is a weep hole on the bottom of the pump, if it is leaking the aid of a small mirror can help you see it

My 2004 chrysler sebring overheats really bad, i can barely drive 3 miles before it reaches 3/4. I replaced the thermostat and both of the fans kick on.

you would only have water in the oil if there was a a leak in the head gasket or water jacket ports in the engine. if you are losing water, that quickly, then it's either a hose, radiator, or water pump. put a piece of cardboard under veh after youve filled the radiator and veh is cool, that way you can determine the location of leak. if you don't see the location of leak the next day, then odds are it is the water pump and only loses water after engine warms up an pressure forces it out the weep hole in the pump while driving. (note: if you have white smoke coming out of tailpipe then you probably have a blowed head gasket,)

Antifreeze leaking onto belts don't know where it is coming from. Is it the water pump or the water outlet? changed the hoses

What you need to do is pressurize the cooling system, then you should be able to see where the leak is coming from.....There is a tool that does this pressure test.

Coolant leaks

Hi, Andre. That sounds like the water pump's seals have given out. If you can see the water pump, look on the bottom of it for coolant leaking. If that's where it's coming from, you'll have to replace the water pump. On your Lumina, the pump is either driven by the serpentine belt, or by the timing belt. You need to look at a repair manual for your car.

My friend's 04 Denali 6L is leaking coolant. I

probably the water pump. front and center of the engine, the pulley that may or may not have the cooling fan attached. from under the truck a leaking water pump usually leaves some coolant residue on the timing cover and at the front of the oil pan where the wiring harness come across.

Replaced water pump and dripping water still from somewhere underneath..Can't find where it is coming from

Check your freeze plugs also if it looks like it's still the water pump leaking it could be the timing chain cover housing this is the aluminum housing that you bolted the water pump to also make sure all the bolt are tight going to the water pump. Did you clean all the water pump bolt's and use sealant on the threads when you reinstalled them it can leak their also.
