Question about Cars & Trucks
Well the check engine light is not on because the engine oil needs to be changed. The light is warning the driver the computer has found a problem that can affect performance and emissions.
The computer has to be scanned for trouble codes then the problem has to be fixed before the light can be turned off.

Under the hood, next to the battery, is a fuse box. Lift the lid (instructions are on the lid) and with the keyswitch on but the engine not running, press and hold the button that says "oil". The book says 5 seconds, but hold it for about 10. If someone is watching the dash lights while you do that, the change oil light should flash briefly.

You need to raise the vehicle and start it. Remove the plug near where the passenger side driveshaft comes out. The head of the plug is 7/16. Trans fluid will stream out of the hole when the engine is running when the transmission is full, If fluid doesn't run out, fill the trans until fluid runs out. The fill cap is red and it is on top under and around the air cleaner box. If you need more help let me know.

Best option is a scan tool or code reader.Alternatively you can disconnect the battery but if you have theft lock on your radio you may need to get the code to reactivate it.
