Question about 2000 Ford Taurus
Ummm does the remote have good batteries in it (sorry have to ask) most remotes need good power to send signals any distance and sometimes the signal will reflect off shiny surfaces and confuse the remote..are you shooting thru a window? thats fogged up? moisture will cause a drop in signal clarity(to includ the car windows and sheet metal as well. good luck and repost please..

SOURCE: 2001 Ford Taurus door locks
The electric motor that pulls the lock button up and down has failed, you will need to pull the door panel to replace it. Yes it is fairly common.

No you dont have to reprogram the remotes. Please give as much info as you can about the problem. What is working and not working. Is every other function working with the unit. Is this an after market autostart or OEM (from FORD) or is it one of the vehicle security systems?

SOURCE: I have a 2008 ford
cycle your ignition 8 times on and off really fast then on the eight time you cycle the door locks should lock and unlock, then hit the lock and unlock button on your fob that should set it just for one car. if you try to reset the fusion key your dealer will charge you alot of money
