1988 jeep comanche idleing rough

My comanches got a crappy 2.5 amc motor in it, it sounds like its missfiring so i put new plugs, rotor, distributor cap. runs bad just on idle when your past idle its runs great, when i took the plugs out i noticed all of them were soty black which made me think its running rich any ideas?

    my 86 comanche back fires when gas is let off , very rough idle, and wants to stall and almost die..but sometimes it runs very strong?

    Same as described i have a 92 doing the same thing.
    At this time i have changed the PCM, O2 sensor ,Crank sensor,Cap & Rotor Plugs and wires on my second set of plugs do to fouling out.
    Fuel filter It has 41 psi pressure key on engine off.32psi running.
    And i have rest the alarm numerous times.

A lot of times in the jeeps the O2 sensor will also cause the engine to run rich and seem as though it is lobing.

I had this on my 90 2.5 it was the map on the fire wall the wire was lose it could be the vac line also. hope it works

How about plug wires they are sometimes the problem if plugs arent getting proper fire they sure do look bad .. look for any burns and check them close
