SOURCE: i have a code of p106 barometric pressure sensor

This is where a DUI guy can get into unnecessary expenses. There are causes of this code that are independent of the sensor. There has to be correct voltage going to the sensor. As well, the sensor also has to have a good path to ground. The sensor could be sending an accurate value to the computer.Low manifold vacuum can set this code too. If there is a vacuum hose running to the sensor it could be kinked, cracked or plugged with sludge or carbon. The sensor only sends what it senses and these will give false codes.

Engine light on po106 code

  • OBD II P0106

Fault Code Definition
The Manifold Absolute Pressure Sensor/Barometric Pressure Sensor measures the rise and fall of the air pressure inside the Intake Manifold. This provides critical data needed for the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) to control the Air Fuel Ratio, the Ignition Spark Timing, and many components of the Emissions Control Systems. The Manifold Absolute Pressure/Barometric Pressure Sensor P0106 code is set when there is a problematic or erratic performance in the voltage signal to the PCM.

Symptoms

  • Check Engine Light will illuminate
  • In many cases, no abnormal symptoms may be noticed
  • In some cases, the engine may be hard starting and/or get poor fuel economy
  • In some cases, noticeably poor engine performance may occur

Common Problems That Trigger the P0106 Code

  • Manifold Absolute Pressure Sensor/Barometric Pressure Sensor is defective
  • Intake Manifold vacuum leaks
  • Faulty or corroded Manifold Absolute Pressure Sensor/Barometric Pressure wiring or connections

Common Misdiagnoses

  • Manifold Absolute Pressure Sensor/Barometric Pressure Sensor is replaced when the real cause is an Intake Manifold vacuum leak
  • Manifold Absolute Pressure Sensor/Barometric Pressure Sensor is replaced when the real cause is a stuck-open EGR Valve
  • Manifold Absolute Pressure Sensor/Barometric Pressure Sensor is replaced when the real problem is a defective Idle Air Control Motor, which causes a very low engine idle

Where is located barometric pressure sensor in gdi 4g93 mitsubishi

Tell me what code you are getting .
A barometric pressure sensor dose not work on its own .
You have the mass air flow sensor this is the first air sensor coming into the vehicle then you have an air temp sensor then what is called ECT engine coolant temp sensor .
The problem to me sounds like the MAP sensor manifold absolute pressure .You loss this the vehicle is not going to run to good.
If it wore the mass air flow it would cost the most the map is far less in price still not cheap the barometric sensor it likely a symptom of the real problem .
Check the gas flow in side the engine like EGR and EVAP systems to a vacuum thing .

DTC Code P0107

P0107 -- CONTINUOUS
Continuous diagnostic trouble code P0107 indicated barometric pressure out of range low was detected during normal operation.

Possible cause
- faulty internal BARO sensor (PCM)

Perform KOEO On-Demand Self Test.
Is P0107 present?
Yes, REPLACE PCM. CLEAR DTC and RETEST.
No, P0107 is intermittent fault. CLEAR DTC. If DTC reappears, REPLACE PCM.

If you keep getting it, a new PCM is the only fix.

Po108 service code

Hi,
OBD II Fault Code
  • OBD II P0108
Fault Code Definition
The Manifold Absolute Pressure Sensor/Barometric Pressure Sensor measures the rise and fall of the air pressure inside the Intake Manifold. This provides critical data needed for the Power Train Control Module (PCM) to control the Air Fuel Ratio, the Ignition Spark Timing, and many components of the Emissions Control Systems. The Manifold Absolute Pressure/Barometric Pressure Sensor converts the Intake Manifold air pressure into a voltage that is high when the Intake Manifold air pressure is high and low when the Intake Manifold air pressure drops to a vacuum. The P0108 code indicates a high voltage input from the Manifold Absolute Pressure Sensor/Barometric Pressure Sensor to the Power Train Control Module.
Symptoms
  • Check Engine Light will illuminate
  • In many cases, no abnormal symptoms may be noticed
  • In some cases, the engine may be hard starting and/or get poor fuel economy
  • In some cases, noticeably poor engine performance may occur
Common Problems That Trigger the P0108 Code
