2 ways you can do it> 1 find the fuse and pull it out but only if it is for the antenna or you can disconnect the antenna wire from the back of your radio, it is normaly a blue wire run with the power harness. Red is 12V. Black is Ground 0V. Yellow is Remote, it works with an AMP if you have one installed. Blue is normaly the power antenna. hope this helps> test it first by pulling the fuse to the radio and if the antenna does not operate then the power is from the radio

SOURCE: The gears on the automatic

If i remember correctly this cars ant is located on the pass/side fender, the best way without trying to pull the fuse because then you will loose other systems, look under the passenger side part of the dash, you will need to remove the cover if its still there, most older cars are missing this cover, there are a few screws holding the cover remove them and drop and pull cover out, next look under the dash you will see wires coming from the fender area towards the radio there are green and theres a plug there, look close to the right and just unplug the connector, have the key on so you can here when the ant motor stops running and this will take care of that problem. good day.

SOURCE: My power antenna runs even with ignition off. I

look by the hood hinge I think the wires with a plug come through there. you are looking for three wires plug. should be green, white, and grey. find it and unplug it.
If you dont find it there you will probably have to pull the inner fender down.
You can buy just the tip of the ant. with the nylon "noodle" (thats what I call it) aand repaired it by taking it apart and remove the broken nylon "noodle" , reassembling it and feeding a new noodle into the ant as you have somone turn the radio off.

SOURCE: antenna motor running

I DO NOT HAVE A OLDSMOBILE CUTLASS AUTOMOBILE. I HAVE THE BUICK REVIERA '95. I HAVEN'T TRIED IT YET BUT I DID POST THAT I WAS ABLE TO STOP THE MOTOR FROM CONTINUOUS RUNNING BY PULLING THE MAIN BLACK WIRE FROM THE TOP OF THE MOTOR BOX IN THE TRUNK. I DIDN'T NOTICE THE POSTING I PLACED ON YOUR SITE FOR THAT FIX.

SOURCE: the motor for my radio antenna on my 1983 cutlass

this is caused by the nylon drive gear that operates the antenna being borken, u will need to remove the antenna and take it apart then replace the drive gear with a kit from GM, about $15.00 for the mast kit.

Power antenna motor won't stop running. Do you know where the cutout switch is located?

There is no switch. When the plastic gears inside the power antenna strip out they continue to run because the limiter switch inside the unit never gets tripped. If you can assist the antenna up when it's running, leave it up and disconnect the power to the motor. If i remember correctly the antenna is mounted on the passenger rear quarter panel. You should be able to pull some of the truck trim out a little and disconnect the two or three wire connector.

Does it keep running all the time and you just want it to stay up. They"re not that hard to replace.
The radio power triggers the antenna and the ant motor can be disconnected in the pass wheel well.

Antenna motor runs while the radio is on or off. The antenna is stuck in the extended position. When the car is shut off the antenna motor continues to run to retract the antenna, but it doesn't go

You need to pull the fuse for the antenna or just unplug it. It has a fairly ridgid plastic wire that pushes the antenna up and down. Works fine until the wire breaks then it rolls up (antenna down) but it never increases resistance because the antenna never comes down , it's like a fishing reel when the lure breaks off, so the motor thinks that the antenna is still coming down and it will run and run and run trying to do it's job. Your lucky it stuck up and not down. If you want your antenna to go up and down again you'll have to buy and install a new one.

Relay #27 in the box under the hood runs only the power antenna on a 1992. For the future here's the parts guide for everything in your jeep. Page 180 has a picture of what you want to pull.

Power antenna on my oldsmobile 88 will not shut off and the antenna is up it even runs without the ignition on

Fault is within the power antenna unit. Needs replacement. If you dont mind the mast being up, it can be disconnected , in order to stop the motor running. Car washes will damage the mast in the event it stays up. Hope this helps.

The power antenna on my 1984 Eldorado is stuck. The motor keeps running but the antenna wont go down.

Hello, you need a new mast installed in your antenna, or a new whole unit.
If you open the trunk and on the right side by the ant. pull the mat down a little. You should now see the ant. About halfway up you will see some wires. If you disconnect either one of them your ant will quit running. The are plugged into the relay, so is is best to unplug the car harness side, if possible, but it does not matter which you do.
