Question about 1997 Mitsubishi Galant

Car just stopped (sudden stop) when it's running on the road.

My car (Mitsubishi galant - 1997 model Automatic), as having problem. The car just stopped (sudden stop) when it's running on the road. When the car stop I use to with for few minutes and start the car ok again, but when it's running again the same problem happens again. Please can you help out give some possible causes of the problem.

You will need to Change the Fuel Pump and Fuel Filter and Also Check the Belt Tension. If it is even a little loose it will not Charge the Battery and could cause this problem also. Let me know what you find.

I replaced my battery and my vehical still stalled


You probably have a blown alternator fuse. Your car will run great with no indication (warning light on the dash) that it is not charging the battery. When the battery is dead you stop on the side of the road, The fuse is either in the box under the hood (probably a square 50 amp?). On my car it is part of the positive battery clamp. Look closely with a flash light. If this is the case , it is a dealer only part about $12 to $20.

check your gearbox linkage underneath on the older cars they can stray...if its automatic your clutch may have burnt out

Sounds like the EGR valve is bad and is stuck in the open position.Just replace that and you should also check the catalytic converter.
