Join a metro forum,

few cars on earth had one engine , most have options
the metro had 3.
so if both cars had the same engine , are they the same.
is the real question.
read the wiki on geo metro.
here is one other issue , quoted
1997 featured the four-cylinder engine with a new sixteen-valve head (rather than the eight valves of the earlier design)

that means the EFI is different and head. (at least)

SOURCE: radio fuse on 1997 Geo Metro

the appropriate fuse is blue (15A) and is third or fourth from the side of the car (the narrow end). Look at the fuse box cover.

Does 1996 geo metro 1.3 engine computor interchange with 1997

no transmission stated, and in many geos 1997 they moved the TCM to the ECU, so.... no tranny no help.
calif or FED car, ? what trans, how many doors.
the ECU is tuned for weight so you have full power WOT.

short answer, no
in most cases, no.
and what does interchange mean?
1: plugs in
2 : plugs in and runs.
3: plugs in and runs right
4: plugs in and runs right and passes smog. and is legal.?

each ECU has a huge list of options.
and you never stated any only liters?
like transmission type, engine type. G16,G13 or G10, all three are diffr. and smog type, and lots of others.

why not got cardon rebuilt page and look yours up, see what fits.
1996 , 26 ECU made
1997, 16 ECU made. only G13s made.
http://www.cardone.com/find-parts/vehicle-parts-listing?make=Geo&model=Metro&year=1996
ok , i looked at both lists NOT ONE MATCH.

you can send yours to CARDON and they will rebuild yours.

Geo metro 1996

I believe it will since the model of car is not greatly changed over 4 years and the 95 was the first in the revamped Geo series. They mostly just change the body style not the engine parts.

Locating camshaft sensor in 1996 geo metro

So what engine is in it? It always helps to state which engine you have, trans, 4 door ect. Should be near the harmonic balancer either attatched to ther front of the engine, or bolted to the engine block.

What road blocks will I have putting a 1993 1.0 L geo metro engine and ecm into a 1997 geo metro?

I don't know if it will physically bolt in or much about either motor really. However, most states have an emissions inspection that requires hooking a computer up to the OBDII connector. Installing an OBDI engine and ecm into an OBDII car won't allow you to pass inspection and is technically illegal. The other way around, would be fine as far as inspection anyway.

Hey iam looking for tail lights for suzuki swift 1995 model can you help me please.

Get to know the sister cars. The Suzuki Swift is almost completely identical to the Geo Metro and the Pontiac Firefly: the only differences were that the Metro and the Firefly were available in sedan form and the Swift wasn't. Also, no changes were made to any of these cars between 1995 and 1997. If you look for parts for any of these cars they will work.

Vehicles mentioned:
1995, 1996, 1997 Suzuki Swift
1995, 1996, 1997 Geo Metro 2/3dr
1995, 1996, 1997 Pontiac Firefly 2/3dr

In addition the only things that changed after 1997 were the bumpers and front turn signals (and that the Metro became a Chevy) so taillights for later Swifts/Metros/Fireflies should work as well.
