Question about 2001 Chevrolet Impala
Is it a 3.8l, if so stop trying to start it and check the fuel pressure regulator to see if it leaking gas into the vaccuum supply hose, it is under the engine cover close to the oil fill cap on the fuel rail, this can cause the black plastic upper intake to literaly blow off the engine, there was a recall on this at one time, if it not a 3.8l you probably have a plugged catalytic convertor, or are due for plugs and wires and possibly an ignition module
