96 3.1 rev limiter at 2900 -3000rpm. Went through vaccume sys. Comp.coil assy.egr. and crank sensors test good. Correct fuel pressure running and not. Maf is responsive, anything im missing?

The rev limiter is built into the PCM. If the vehicle will not get past the RPMS you have indicated and all sensors test good, check for a plugged exhaust system. The catalytic converter could be restricted/plugged. You can remove the front 02 sensor ( which will allow the exhaust to breath somewhat better ) and see if the vehicle will come up in RPM. IF it does, suspect a plugged exhaust.

Remove rev limiter

Search online for HHO (a do it yourself hydrogen burning accessory for vehicles) On some websites they claim that most of these HHO don't save fuel because of the computer overriding it. They sell tuners of some sort where you can fool the computer that all is working fine but tweak whatever you want to.

How to remove the rev limiter in a 1998 jeep cherokee sport

No engine option stated, nor country. XJ hacking topic.
the ECU does have that. there are 2 on all newer cars.
1 normal limit (higher)
2: limphome limit. (lower)

both are hard coded in the PCM , firmware.
so your question really is who to program your PCM.
and that has infininty anwsers, Google it.
there are 2.
a: a PCM hacking tool. (find it)
b: or custom ECU. (I have a car with it ,. made by me)

im not expert on hacking tools, but there are many, and changes every day , from now forward.
i do have my 08 hacked, but not for rev. id never over-rive my stock engine, that be crazy. why do you wont to over-rev./
if serious why not join a real forum on your car and post this there
or better search there.

here is my first google hit.

Car stuttering

The rev limiter kicks in at about 6800 RPM to prevent "coast over" to unsafe revs, so I suggest you have a custom programmed PCM that eliminated the rev limiter feature or moves up the RPM limit.

I have a 1995 GMC Sonoma, 2.2 liter, 4 cylinder, Standard Transmission, and i was wanting to know about this knocking sound when my shift light comes on. ill be driving, say 1st gear and when the shift...

rev limiter at what rpm are you doing for the shift light to come on ----your over revving the engine to high and the truck kills power if its doing at regular rpm then possible faulty limiter in 98 they removed the limiter and put a speed limiter 94 mph and the pcm would needed to be programmed or to remove it same thing

Rev limiter

You'd probably have to get a reprogrammed or chipped engine computer. Removing the rev limiter though is a sure fire way to destroy your engine. Even Ferraris and Porches have rev limiters.

The seat belt gets stuck and makes a loud and distracting noise

The system can be operated manually by removing round cover cap on the B pillar (Just behind door). manually turn crank knob on top of motor.

There is a limit switch on the A pillar to turn off the motor for forward movement. There is a limit switch on the B pillar to shut off the motor for rearward movement.

You may need a B pillar limit switch if the belt is going all the way back but not shutting off. Unfortunately the rear limit switch is serviced with the track & motor assembly. Get a used one at Page with * is cheapest part.

You need to remove A pillar trim, B pillar lower trim, B pillar upper trim, and front door opening upper trim.

disconnect front limit switch
disconnect rear limit switch
disconnect motor electrical connector
remove 3 motor bolts
remove 2 limit switch bracket bolts
remove screw at A pillar near limit switch
remove 3 screws at track assy to roof.
pull back carpet & remove 4 screws at floor where you step into car.
remove track & motor assy.

How do you remove the rev limiter on a 1989 240sx

I am pretty sure it is built into the ECM. You will need to purchase an aftermarket ECM. It will probably work out better for you in the long run.
