Below are some instructions that I hope will help. Just a hint as far as installing the belt. Before you do the final torque or the belt tensioner, you should rotate the engine (by hand) 2 revolutions to TDC and double check all your marks before puting the cover back on.

The engine turns over but not starting the cambelt is good. iv tried puting plugs in the hose but stil wont work help! (v6 manual lantis 94)

what do you mean putting plugs in the hose?
are you getting spark?
have you replaced the cam timing belt?
if so did you line all timing marks up?

Timing belt

Honda recommend timing belts are replaced every 5 years, or 60,000 miles (90,000 Kms), whichever ocours sooner.

Timing belts do not have any inbuilt indicators as to how "worn" they are, nor do they have any "health" indications as to how likely they are to break.

Timing belts can last for well beyond their quoted service life, however they also fail with no warning whatsoever. When they fail, the valves in the engine stop moving almost imeadiately, but the pistons keep moving. At least one piston will hit at least one valve and will do a lot of damage. Puting this sort of damage right to an engine in a car this old could easily cost more than the car's worth !

If it's more than 5 years since the belt was replaced, or you dont know when it was last repalced, I'd do it now. A small independant garage should do it for about £150 to 200 all in - if that seems a lot, rebuilding your engine, or buying a reconditioned one, would be at least £750.

Timing belt broke

No on priming water pump, and picking up a book on your car would be easier than typing out the process and having the book will help you in future repairs. Autozone has the books, good luck

Where to find timing tools for '87 alfa spider 2.0

You can do it the old fashioned way. The timing belt has to be off to do this. The top belt gear has a hash mark by the nut holding it in. It has to be top center. Then you have to take the first spark plug out and stick a long screw driver inside there. You will need two people to do the next step. You then, Turn the bottom gear clockwise until you can feel the first head come all the way up. The second person holding the screw driver will know when its all the way up. Then you stop. You then put the Timing belt back on. You cannot move the gears at all when you put the belt back on.

I hope you've solved the problem by now, but there are alignment marks on the crank shaft (top pulley), idler (lower side), and cam shaft (smaller, bottom pulley) which should be aligned with stationary marks on the timing belt rear cover.

The belt has marks that align with the aforementioned marks (lines). The double marks on the belt align with the camshaft marks and the single marks with the others.

Loosen the tensioner clamp (nut) to allow the spring loaded tensioner to press on the belt and retighten the nut.

Rotate the crank shaft (clockwise, probably two revolutions) and make sure the pulley marks realign to the marks on the cover (they don't have to realign with the marks on the belt).

Rotate the crank shaft a full revolution once the belt is on and check that alignment is preserved.

Periodically loosen and retension the tensioner nut (access through a hole in the cover) to ensure that tension is maintained as the belt relaxes.
