Question about 2006 Pontiac Torrent
My ABS light has been coming on and off for a few weeks now and just recently my breaks, only when I'm going slow, have started to make a horrible grinding sound when I slow to a stop, but once the ABS light comes on it is totally fine. Should I take it to the Dealership? I really am trying to avoid a high fee.
Did you get this corrected? My car does the exact same thing and I'm dreading taking to the dealership because of high costs. Wondering how you corrected.

Save hours of searching online or wasting money on unnecessary repairs by talking to a 6YA Expert who can help you resolve this issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.

It sounds like "False Antilock Mode" to me. Your Antilock Brake Control Module "thinks" that you have a wheel locking up. This is probably caused by a bad wheel sensor. You need to scan the module to find out which one.

Sounds like a wheel speed sensor is faulting. You may be able to take it to a repair shop and allow them to put it on their scanner while it is driven. Unfortunately, the scanner they use is expensive and often there will be a service charge just for the knowledge of what is wrong. Unless you know someone.
