Well i have a 2002 pontiac grand prix and one day it decided it doesnt want to idle...the air intake where the filter is was loose so i tightened it back on and it still wont idle it shuts off unless its 2000 rpm's or above.
There are 3 things that should be checked.
The idle air control valve (some call it a fuel bypass valve)
Throttle position sensor
and a fuel pressure test done. The idle air control is usually mounted on the throttle body, so is the tps which has a black plastic casing. good luck.

that vacume hose you disconected is letting air into the intake tha IACV isnt it could be bad or clogged up with carbon try spraying some throttle body cleaner in there wth it running dont open the throttle but just a crack if that doesnt work it might need too be taken apart and cleaned
