2006 Chevy Uplander makes a 5-10 second tone when trying to start.

The horn blows loud and clear, lights are bright.. Radio will not come on, Here are soem of the solutions that I tried.. I hook some wimpy cables to the van and at ths time the radio did come on but van still would not start. I know its getting fire--i touch the cables togehter and fire sparks went everywhere.. Is this a starter, I mean the van will not make a single soudn at all besides the 5 -10 second tone..(I am not sure, but I thought that the car did try to turn after I let it charged for a whiule.. im not sure.. ? what are other solutions.)

SOURCE: 1997 Chevy Cavalier intermittent starting

I had the exact same problem on my 1998 Chevrolet 1500 c/k pickup. I also tried a new starter motor and solenoid assembly, but to no avail.

After weeks of searching for the problem, I found that corrosion had built up between the car battery terminals and the power cables extended from the car battery to the starter motor. I'm not sure if this is your problem, but it's worth a try. Also, check all other electrical connections, because these types of intermittent problems are often electrical.

SOURCE: 2006 chevy cobalt woulnt start lock light is on

Are you using the original key that came with the car? The chip in that key may have gone bad. Try using the spare key that should have come with the purchase of the car. You may also be having battery issues. If all else fails....call the people who really know how to rape you...DUM Dum dummmmm....the dealer

SOURCE: clicking noise when trying to start car, battery is ok, wont start

That Clicking is the Battery causing it not to Start. You need to Replace that Battery or at Least put a Charger on it for a Couple of hours to see if you can Salvage it for a While.

SOURCE: dont know how to reset or bypass gm theft system car is not starting .It tries and quits.

this is one way to reset it :
first make sure the battery is fully charged , then do the following:
key in the ignition but do not crank the motor, just leave it at the
ignition mode for ten minutes ,then turn it off POSITION for 5 seconds then REPEAT again 2 more times. at the 3 rd time youre gonna notice the ANTI THEFT light on dash to blink. when doing the last step , remove key , inserted again and turn on motor , good luck , AJ

2007 Chevy Uplander will not start.

The horn going off is your anti-theft system. When you disconnected the battery, it lost its memory. Number one tip when changing batteries, maintain the power to the car with a charger, or wires to the old battery.

Unfortunately there isn't one for the Uplander, just the Impala. Check out the video on clearing the Uplander heater core.

My car wont crank or make a sound.yet the lights ,horn and radio works fine

I would still check the battery to make sure it has the correct amount of amperage it would need for the starter, if that checks out good, Sounds like you have a ground problem at the starter, power issue at the starter or the starter is bad

I have a 2007 Chevy uplander. Yesterday while driving down the road it died on my. I pulled over and it started back up. Went about 10 miles and it died again. We were low in gas but nothing bad. I put...

Clicking noise where ? under the hood in the engine compartment ,the starter , a relay in the fuse box , inside the vehicle etc.... Checking the battery , battery cables and connections , do the headlamps work ,are they bright ?
If the headlamps work and are bright then the battery an connections are Ok . If not bright ,voltage drop test the main battery cables an connections .
How to voltage drop test starter motor circuit
The starting system on your vehicle is different then this , a tipical starting . Your starter system is more complex ,when you turn the key to the start position it inputs a voltage signal to the BCM - body control module , The BCM then sends a message to the PCM - engine computer on the class 2 serial data communication network that start is requested . The PCM will then supply a ground to the control side of the start relay energizing the relay sending B+ voltage to the starter solenoid .
The vehicle dying on you could be any number of thing's ,and without testing we'd only be guessing . When electronic thing's heat up they tend to act like that , till they cool again .

Have a 2006 chevy Uplander and check engine light comes on and off, also the ABS light comes on and off. hade both systems checked and everything checked out fine. also the auto start works sometimes and...

I have a 2006 chevy uplander that had an abs light coming on so i took it to my local GM dealer to have it diagnosed and they had told me that the hub and bearing assembly needed to be changed, so i changed it and the light still came on. Upon further investigation i came to discover that the abs wires were frayed in two locations and that the connecters were loose i tightened the connecters and replaced the wires and now my abs light does not come on. I also discovered that i did not need a new hub and bearing assembly after all.

My horn is not loud on my Sonata, and when I lock my doors with the keyless entry it does not beep. What could it be?

Some cars use a low tone horn and high tone horn and they face each other to produce the right sound frequency. One of those horns is probably bad.

2002 chevy impala won't start...

Check battery with a volt meter and see what kind of volts are in there. (should be at least 12) If lower, re-charge battery and clean terminals. (make sure you know radio code before removing terminal ends, and how to restore radio). Quick way to check battery is to leave the door open and look at the dome light, If it dims substantially when you attempt to crank engine, battery is likely low.
