Question about 2005 Dodge Durango

1 Answer

I need to pull the fuse for my interior lights, on my 2005 Dodge Durango, because they stay on regardless of switch position or manually pressing them, driving or not. There is some kind of wiring issue, but I do not want my battery to go dead until I can have it serviced. The owner's manual does not list a fuse for interior lights that I can understand from the abbreviations. Can anyone help? Thanks.

Easy solution that could help, when your driving turn the dimmer switch all the way down to complete off position, also the 05 durango (all versions) come with battery saver that will auto shut off lights to prevent dead batt. also if the dimmer switch all the way off does not stop the problem i would suggest the salvage yard and pick up a used dimmer switch. the used one will be cheaper then new (in my area only a few bucks). hope that helps

2005 Dodge Durango interior dome lights will not shut off

One of the switches on the doors or tailgate are broken. Look at the switches (located on the door or the door pillars) and see if one of them has been broken or stuck. This switch turns lights off when depressed.

Check all the door switches. See if they are ok. If they are ok it could be the PCM and that is the computer that controls the interior electronics. IT is not cheap.

I have a 2004 dodge durango and the interior lights will not go off while driving, the rear hatch light will not turn out at all. The doors are not ajar and the interior switches are all shut off but they...

take it to a dealer. you need a CCN (cabin compartment node) also known as a instrument cluster, it controls you dome lights. good news they had a recall on the durangos for this problem and even if the recall was done it should still be covered assuming im right about the cause... (i work at a dodge dealer and i have seen it a few times)

Which fuse controls the interior lights

First, make sure the interior light switch has not been left on, either at the light itself (press to turn on, press to turn off) or at the headlight switch.

And don't forget the dimming feature in Chrysler products, where the lights don't just go off, but delay after closing the doors.

The fuse would be the interior lights fuse, most likely at the drivers end of the dashboard.

Your fuse panel should be labeled or on back of cover & tell you whats, what. If not check owners manual.

Interior lights don't turn on

Sounds like a bad switch on your latch, It is inside the door mounted to the latch, most I've seen you have to replace the complete latch. Merry Christmas
