Question about 2001 Chevrolet Silverado 1500
I have intermittent problems with my turn signals and horn. The horn will honk once, but if you press it more than once it sounds muted. Also the turn signal indicates as if it has a blown bulb (quickly flashing dash lights) but all my bulbs are still good and only the front lights don't work, the rear still works fine. These two problems are completely intermittent so I'm assuming a faulty ground to possibly be the issue. I have already tried replacing the horn and turn signal bulbs, and I tested the turn signal relay and it's fine. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

The problem is the turn signal/headlight/hazard switch assembly on the steering column which the brake light wiring runs through. The part is easy to change and cost about $50 at most parts stores

its easy. when the sinal flashes fast its just telling you a light is out. there might be 2 ways to fix this. open the truck look for the housing for the lights. now you may have to just turn the harnest where the wires are. or you just nee a phillps screw driver and unscrew the plastic cover off.

You probably have a burned or melted bulb socket connector where the bulb actually plugs into the socket and it is preventing the bulb from making contact with the socket connector. Look into the socket and see if you can see the connector recessed or plastic around the connector area higher than the connector. Scrape it away, if so, or carefully bend the connector away from the backing so it will contact the bulb when reinserted. If nothing else, replace the socket.
