Question about 1985 Lincoln Town Car

Can't find the Amplifier in the Lincoln Towncar

I have changed the radio in my 85" Lincoln Towncar. The only problem is I have to bypass the Amplifier and I can't locate it. Can you please help me with my problem.

    Radio/CD player works fine but the backlights on all the radio buttons don't illuminate including the round analog clock above it.

In the trunk between the two speakers is where it is normally located

Dennis my 1995 lincoln towncar JBL radio quit producing sound the system comes on fine but I get no sound could u help me please, what is the problem?

I have a 1995 lincoln towncar and the radio comes on but I no longer have sound, please help, what's wrong with it?


I think I already answered this... but there is an amplifier behind the back seat in the trunk area, and there is a fuse on it. Start by replacing that fuse.

Its a weight sensitive sensor, so you would probably have to come up with some sort of resistor. I doubt you can bypass it.

How do you reset the radio in a 1989 lincoln towncar?


Could be wrong, but I called my Lincoln Dealer a few months
ago, to help someone here & was told that you do not need radio codes
until you get past 2000 & then not on all vehicles

no, you can purchase wire harnesses at any auto parts store or walmart that will hook right up to the original wires in the car. about $7.
