ENGINE VIBRATION AT IDLE BUT OK WHILE DRIVING.

CAR HAS 80,000 MILES HAS BEEN MAINTAINED, TUNED UP 1 YEAR AGO AND RAN FINE, RECENTLY VABRATION STARTED MECHANIC REPLACE MOTOR MOUNTS AND CLEANED THROTTLE BODY, THIS DID NOT FIX THE PROBLEM. COULD IT BE A STOPPED UP MUFFLER, CHEAP GAS,THROTTLE POSITION SENSOR, DIRTY INJECTORS,ETC. YOU CAN FEEL THE DOORS AND HOOD VIBRATE AT IDLE, LESS PRONOUCED WITH AC RUNNING. ANY SUGGESTIONS?

almost the same problem as above, additionally the all console lights including gearshift lights goes off occasionaly. Recently left turn indicator flashes about twice as rapid. One mechanic checked the plugs and wires, it's ok. He could not read engine code because his universal reader did not communicate with cars computer. Any direction what should I do next?

    Thanks

Could be any one, or more, of the following -

Plugged injector
Bad plug wire
Fouled plug
Crossed plug wires (hard to tell sometimes on V-8s that run smooth anyway)
Vacuum leak
Leaky EGR valve
Shifted timing sensor

Scan engine for codes and proceed from there.

There is a product called RXP (available here in Texas) that will clean up an engine and gas. Its pretty awesome stuff, and this coming from a person who doesn't really believe in additives.

Thinking about buying a ford escape..2009....miles @ 132,000....is this good to buy with mileage being high

Normally this amount of mileage is fine...The Escape is safe, and popular...At these miles, the motor should have been tuned up...brakes replaced recently? Also front and rear struts are usually worn out before 80,000 miles...have they been replaced? A service record on this Escape may be available? Can you talk with the previous owner?

Vabration

IS that vibration related to RPM? If so the harmonic balancer and or the crank shaft might be out of balance. If it is not related to RPM, then you need to check to see if the shafts are all installed correctly and the motor mounts are ok. It could also be the tires flat spotted if they sat a long time.

1995 Subaru Legacy Wagon. Engine dies at low idle.

I understand you have maintained it properly, But often people seem to forget things like the Fuel filter. Another cause is vacuum leaks. If the car has a miss you might try a can of Seafoam through the fuel system. Cleans the system very nicely and improves fuel mileage. Hope this helps to return the Subbie to its dependable abilities. Good luck.
