yes you can the best thing to do is stop your local Ford dealership in the parts department and they be able to print you off pictures and diagrams showing you what to do if all fails stop by your local library and get your hands on a Haynes auto repair manual for your SUV Merry Christmas & Happy New Year as always wish you the best of luck Michigan Man.

Sometimes this is because the thermostat is not warming up the engine - and sometimes it is because the battery was disconnected or the computer has lost memory and has not been driven enough to relearn yet.
A local garage that deals with smog tests in your area should be able to advise.
