This only happens after i set the ebrake down.... if i start the car and dont do anything the light for both the radio and the miles gauge stay on but as soon as i take off the ebrake they both go out... but the radio is still fully functional.
Is there a light for the e-brake also that may or may not be working..may also have a bad ground in the e-brake switch too check all them...good luck

your radio is staying on? you have a bad door switch.the bcm does not see door opening and thus does not turn radio off. most likely the drivers door.

It sounds like you may have a bad fuse distribution box problem due to the multiple electrical problems. Inspect the fuse box and look for any damages to the fuse box and wire harness, pay attention to the wire harness from the engine compartment to the cabin compartment, look for any damages and corrosion. Star with that to save you some money since time is money and the dealer will just take as much time as they can. Good luck and hope this help. Keep me posted, be glad to answer any questions you may have.

We had a similar situation. It took the dealer a few days to figure out it was an issue with the wiring harness(es) in the center console - around or behind the transmission shifter.

The fuel level sensor is bad. The tank will have to be taken down to replace the level sensor. There is little fingers on the resistor that wear down and loose contact causing the gage to read incorrectly.

This is a common problem with Malibu's. It is due to cheap metal in the fuel gage that corrodes. Chevrolet knows about this but they refuse to issue a fix. The check engine light staying on and the faulty fuel gage are related. This is a defect and they need to recall this part! Raise hell with the dealership!
