I have loud nocking in my 2002 envoy why is that

Knocking can usually be traced to a lack of lubrication, old engine oil, or a batch of bad gasoline. If you can determine where the knocking is coming from, it would be easier to narrow it down. If the knocking is coming from the dome cover area, you may have a leak around the dome cover gasket, preventing oil from properly lubricating the rocker arms.

2002 envoy Motor was pulled and replaced with same motor different year - one that doesn't have a knock sensor. when key turned lights go on and nothing else. no spark

opps, sounds like the engine needs to be replaced again with the proper engine. If you paid the shop for this they have to fix it at no charge. It fails in the federal emission law. call your state auto bureua to complain about this.
if you replaced it, well, look for the proper engine.

Engine knocks cold ok hot

if its at the top end its pistion slap
if its at the bottem end(of your engine) its a crank shaft bearing.

with out going into extream detail,

a ting sound at the top is a pistion slap.... replace all your pistions posibly over hual the engine.

a dubble knock that gose with rpm but sounds 2 knocks very every fireing of the pistion is a crank bearing..... replace your crank shaft bearings.... all of them b/c metal gose threw an engine extreamly fast and will destroy other beraings. this knock on start up will turn into a knock all the time, then a very louad knock that will end your engines life.

unfortunetly the answer is engine rebuild and fast.

Engine light/ knocking sensor

The knock sensor is for the timing advance on your envoy. It will not be related to your sparkplugs. Your knock sensor will be screwed into the engine block, or under the intake depending on model. The V8 engine is under the intake.
