Question about 1997 Dodge Dakota
Tried pulling fuse for parking lights to see if brake light would work because of another tip. No go.
Check for power and ground. One should be at battery voltage and the other ground. Somet5imes ground can't handle the current from the bulb so try to make a connection to ground. I try to either use the fuel tank or run a wire from the battery.
Second reason the turn signal switch can go bad and keep the battery voltage from reaching the bulb. I will also assume you checked the bulb on the other side that you know works fine. I use electrical contact cleaner inside turn signal switch. Move the lever
rapidly to clear any possible dirt.

SOURCE: Headlights Not Working, Brights and Turn Signals Work
This is cuased by the multifuntion switch that is located on the steering column. It is the swith with the headlight dimmers on it.
You just need to remove the steering column bezels and replace the multifunction switch.

Look under the Hood and Locate the Fuse Relay Box. There are Relays in this Box for these Lights. They might be Labeled ILLUMINATION, Not Sure But, They are in there. The Diagram of what is What should be Inside the Box Cover, If not, It is inside the Owners Manual. Please Rate My Response! Thanks!
