Poor nighttime visibility in snowstorm

How old is your car??? What kind of car is it? What comes to mind is the car sets in the sun most of the time. And the windshield is laminated (two pieces of glass held together by a film of plastic) This plastic over time will shrink causing light to deflect causing poor vision. If this is indeed the problem the windshield has to be replaced. I would think insurance would cover it.

Valve lifters need resetting

If your engine is 1980 or above, virtually all lifters are hydraulic and are self adjusting. No manual adjustment can be performed. When they get too noisy and a high quality oil change or oil additive will not quiet them, time for a valve job and component replacement. Just a note: poor quality fuel, poor ignition components (worn as to produce weak plug firing) and improper/faulty emissions sensors/devices can cause lifter noise due to misfire, timing advance/decline, and imcomplete combustion. A thorough tune up is always recommended before assuming internal engine parts are bad. If you have a check engine light on, codes there may give a route to a solution as well.....MIke

I have replaced my rhs indicator (front)twice now and it has blown at the front again! What could this be? The engine light is constantly on but garage cannot find a fault. Possibly a fuse?

Poor quality bulb or bad connection in housing.

Check Engine lamp is due to either oil service due or engine fault code set. ...depending on model...... also possible fuel filler cap loose or has been loose. Fuse will not set Check Engine lamp.

Get a shop to run a scan on the car and note the codes . Search those codes on Google .

Lights not adjustable? Hmmm. Is this because the adjustment mechanism is seized or they just didn't want to do them? According to the manual they are adjustable.
It is also possible the reflective quality of your headlamps has been compromised by moisture and time.
Can you look behind the bulbs in your car and see where the mirror type surface has turned dark or peeling? Common in the lamp assembly's made in recent years.
Installing a brighter bulb without a good reflective surface is a waste of money.
Also common is the outer plastic surface getting pitted and yellow. There are kits available in auto supply shops that do a decent restoration on this problem.

If the headlights are adjusted properly and it is still too dim to see properly, you can add a set of driving lights. A high quality set from PIAA or other high end lighting manufacturers will cost $200-$300, but it is well worth the investment. You can also swap the headlamp bulbs for a more powerful set, ask the parts store.

If your lights are shining at the ground right in front of the vehicle, I would suspect that they are out of adjustment and you should take the vehicle to a shop that can accurately align them.
