You can't turn it on by the switch on the radio ? Nothing showing on the radio display ? If not check these fuses
Blown central junction box (CJB) Fuse 1 (7.5A), Fuse 20 (7.5A), Fuse 28 (7.5A), and Fuse 29 (25A) . The switch on the steering wheel should not stop the radio from being turned on at the radio !
the brakes have not been set properly. may be something stopping the pistons going back in. failing that the disc's are bent, can happen when over braking down hills etc. you would need the alinement checking.
I had some issues with my 2005 explorer left rear. It was making a creepy old door sound at low speeds and then a high pitched whisel at high speeds. That turned out to be a broken wheel bearing and had it replaced. Note each wheel has two wheel bearings. After that a new noise developed that sounded like metal scraping/ grinding metal. It end up being the brake dust cover got bent when they replaced the bearing and it was rubbing something, the fix for that was bending it so it didn't rub. I hope this helps.
in 4wd low the car will rev its nuts off and go real slow.in 2wd or 4wd auto the front/rear wheels will turn due to the oil flow in the gearboxes.put the car on wet grass in 2wd and see what happens, then try again in 4wd auto, you will NOTICE a difference.(just a little......)another way is to put it in 2wd and put a wood block under all 4 wheels.then lower slowly.......
tazvtaz: If you only hear this noise when turning, I would start with the power steering assembly.
1.Check to verify if you have the proper level of power steering fluid first, if not add fluid as required.
2.Chekc for leaks around the power steering assembly, power steering hoses and replace or repair as required.
3.If the problem still exists, then your power steering motor may be on it's way out. You can verify if the noise is coming from the power steering assembly by having an assistant starting the car (in park)and turning the steering wheel, while you observe the operation of the power steering motor and determine if this is where the source of noise your are hearing is coming from. Go to the engine compartment where the relays are located with the fuses. Check or replace the 4 wheel auto engage relay , maybe is not working. Is very clearly mark, I believe is the top right one looking at the bost front front of vehicle to the back. There is a diagram drawing of each relay in the cover, so you can't go wrong.
