ABS, TracOff, and Service Vehicle lights stay on after starting

Its possible you damaged one of the wheel sensors or the wiring when you were working on the starter. Or not.
The ABS and traction control uses components from both systems, so if one system fails both are disabled.
I would check that wheel sensor and see if it is working. You may need a professional scanner to check it out, and to erase the codes once the problem is fixed.

This will need a hands on inspection by a qualified mechanic. i suggest the Kia dealership, but at a minimum it needs to go to a different shop than the one you've been taking it to as they seem to not know what they're doing.

ABS/Traction and Turn Signal issue.

bad wheel speed sensor or wiring to it open or shorted. just fixed same ABS & Traction Control problem on my 2001 Chevy. No matter make or model the systems are pretty much the same.

ABS and TC work together, a problem with either one of these will set both lights.

If you can get a ACTRON Code reader 9185 it will read Gobal and ABS codes. Don't know if your local auto parts store will be able to read ABS codes for you. I repaired mine for $140.00 no more problems - take it to a dealer and you will be looking at $800.00 plus.

good luck

On my 2001 Diamante, when I start it, I have to push the gas pedle to the floor and hold it there b4 the car will start. Could this be a gas filter or mass air flow sensor problem?

Firstly, try to avoid depressing the gas pedal if possible, as this will flood the injection system.

Due to the intricacy of your Diamante's Emission system, this condition could be caused by any number of air/fuel components.

For this reason, DO NOT replace any parts, until you have had your diagnostic codes checked.

If you're technically inclined, you can check the diagnostics yourself by jumping the No.1 & No. 4 pins on your diagnostic connector (under dash, above driver's knee). Turn key to ON (do not star) and observe the flash sequence on your Check Engine light.

Report back with your findings...

I have a mitsubishi diamante 01 ls im having trouble with the service engine light not wanting to go off the code is for the oxygen sensor bank 2 sensor 1 I have had two different sensors put in but none...

Hello, welcome to FixYa...your descripton indicates it's a heated 02 sensor that is setting the code...why would you not replace the correct one the first time if in fact it really does need to be repalced? ---80% of the time an 02 sensor code is set there is nothing wrong with the sensor itself, the sensor is doing it's job, it has detected a malfunction and reported it to the ECM, the ECM turned the service light on, that is what sensors do, that is how they work. I have seen motorist spend over $700 dollars on sensors and still have the same problem. On average the life of an 02 sensors is 60-80k. A good technician will know if a sensor is bad from the voltage it's drawing. You could have a dirty fuel injector or MAF sensor resulting in a rich or lean fuel mixture that caused the 02 code to be set. I hope you understand by this explanation, that even by replacing the $380 sensor there is no gurantee the problem has be repaired. A good diagnostic scan and someone that knows how to read the feedback from that scan could give you a clear cut decisive repair procedure.
I hope this helps and best of luck with the Diamante...

My Break, ABS and Trac warning lights all come on at the same time. I can shut the engine down and restart the issue goes away. I t seems to be happening more frequently. My mechanic found nothing wrong...

Nothing wrong. Doesn't that seem strange to you

The ABS & Trac came on because that system has issues

There may be stored data, if not a code present

The mechanic has to component test to find the problem

These guys spend too much time with a scan tool & I
think some of them are waiting for it to tell them something

Doesn't work that way. If everything goes as it should, the
scanner shows what the computer sees, that's all,& that can
be a lot,but you have to move on & use different skills that
not everyone has learned yet apparently

Try another shop

That really isn't a diagnostic test etc, just looking at data
stream,if they see nothing out of range they quit

That doesn't help you any,the problem is still there, intermitent
maybe, but there.

ABS Brakes come on when stopping all the time. Is there a sensor?

The ABS system always is engaged when the brakes are applied. If you are talking about the ABS light coming on then it is a little bit of a different story. If the light has come on at all there will always be a code stored. I would take it to a shop that has a scan tool to read ABS lights and ask them what the computer is saying. This is the only true way to get this problem fixed.

Abs fault

Sounds like a steering wheel sensor. Call Mitsubishi back and tell them that, or try a different dealer. Sensor detects the angle of the steering wheel when determining ABS operation parameters (I think)...
