Change rear brake light bulb

that's not much info there, Kev. All I can tell you is that most brake lights can be fairly easily accessed from the trunk of the car. You simply locate the bad bulb, turn the bulb housing counterclockwise until the unit pops out, remove the burnt out bulb by either unscrewing it, or by pushing down on it while turning it counterclockwise, and remove it. Take your new bulb and put it in the housing the opposite of the way you removed it and insert it into the hole, turn it to the right, test it (you'll need someone to watch as you apply the brakes to make sure it's working .....voilla!

I need help on how to change a back brake light in a 2000 chevy cavalier

You should be able to open the truck and pull back the carpeting just around the area of the brake/reverse/signal light housing. There are normally a few nuts, almost always 3, and they are quite easily removed by either using a small adjustable wrench or a small pair of pliers. Just be careful when removing them and do not apply much pressure as they are constructed of very thin metal and will deform easily. After you remove the nuts, the housing should pull free quite easily and allow you access to the bulbs. Simply turn them 1/4 turn counter-clockwise, you'll be able to feel it unlock, and pull the bulb from the housing. Replace the bulb, wipe your finger prints from the bulb with a soft cloth and reverse the steps listed above. The oil residue from your fingers will often cause the bulbs life to be shortened a great deal.

Hoe do you change a brake light on a 2001 volkswagen beetle?

IT'S A BIT MORE COMPLICATED THAN ABOVE.
TO REMOVE BRAKE LIGHT HOUSING YOU HAVE TO GO INTO THE TRUNK AND REMOVE AN OVAL PLASTIC COVER NEAR WHERE THE TAIL LIGHT IS. REACH IN AND FEEL FOR A KNOB (FEELS LIKE AN OUTDOOR SPIGOT KNOB). TURN IT UNTIL IT COMES OFF. REMOVE ENTIRE TAIL LIGHT CASING. YOU'LL BE ABLE TO COMPLETELY REMOVE THE HOUSING BY PUSHING FROM INSIDE OUT. DISCONNECT THE WIRE. CHANGE BULB, REVERSE PROCEDURE.
GOOD LUCK.

NEED TO CHANGE BULB BUT CAN'T SEEM TO FIGURE OUT HOW TO GET INTO CASING

First open the rear liftgate (not just the glass). This will expose the two screws that secure the housing of the lamp to the body (it also exposes the connector plug which, obviously, you should unplug). After removing the two screws, separate the rubber housing from the LED lamp itself....and there you have it!
The third brake light might be a sealed lamp, so the entire brake light must be changed. you can't just replace the bulbs.
I hope this helps.

Change brake light on 2006 Xterra

After you remove the 2 bolts there is 2 cone shaped tensioners that help hold the taillight housing on. Grab the taillight firmly on the top and bottom, and pull it straight towards you until the tensioners pop. They will not be damaged and are made to pop in and out.
Then find the bulb housing of the burnt bulb, turn the housing clockwise, and remove the bulb housing, remove the bulb by pulling on the black base of the bulb only on the short sides on the housing. (DO NOT pull on the glass, as it may break in your hand). Then slide the replacement bulb into the housing (it can go in either direction), and repeat the steps in reverse order. to put the housing and taillight back on.
Be careful to tighten the taillight bolts by hand only, they have a plastic thread sleeve that is easily stripped by a drill.
