SOURCE: when brake pedal pressed side lights come on

hello zeeko1 , over here when that happens its because someone put a single element bulb where a double element bulb goes , now this bulb you take out to fix the problem , look at the bottom of the socket see if it has 1 contact point , then look into the hole where the bulb goes , i bet you see 2 contacts , this single contact bulb is shorting out into the other circuit back feeding voltage to other circuit . cheers mate !

Thanks for using FIX YA !

How do I replace the brake light bulb

1.Open the tailgate.
2. Locate the plastic plugs attached to the brake light housing (on the right side of the driver side light, on the left of the passenger side).
3. Carefully pry up the plugs with a screwdriver or other flat tool (I believe there are two).
4. The light should be free to pull out (pull toward the rear of the vehicle). You should see two torx screws.
5. Remove the bolts and pull the housing away from the tail light lens.
6. Twist and pull to remove the correct bulb.
7. Insert the new bulb into the holder and replace the housing.
8. Verify that the replacement bulb(s) are working.
9. Reinstall the torx screws and place the assembly back into it proper location on the vehicle.
10. Push the plugs back into the holes and verify that it is secure.
11. Close the tailgate and check for proper fitment.

Only rear driver side brake light will not work when braking need help

Pastor Norman, Pastor Dave here.
Since you already replaced the left rear brake light bulb and that didn't help, please take that bulb socket out again as you did before, and find a way to test the bulb contact for electricity when the brake lights are on. You should get 12 volts out of the "hot" metal contact.
If the other two lights are on, and you have no current in the socket, you either have a bad socket, or a broken wire somewhere.
One way is to go back a few inches and skin off the insulation of the brake light wire and see if there is current back a few inches from the socket. Cover with tape when you finish.
If you decide to cobble a solution, you could run a good wire from the other brake light that works and splice it in to the dead wire.
Be Blessed.

How do i change the headlight bulb on my 05 uplander

On my 2003 trailblazer (as far as I know they are the same), See note below for passenger side. Remove the dust cover on the back of the head light assembly (black round rubber cover about 3" in diameter, just pull it off), disconnect the plug on the bulb, turn the bulb a 1/8 turn and pull it out. Then reverse the process for assembly. ***NOTE***If you are trying to replace one of the bulbs on the passenger side, remove the air filter housing cover and displace the filter for access to the dust covers on the back of the head light. 2 screws hold the air filter housing cover on, one directly behind it and one on the side (drivers side of air filter housing).

I need to change my rear dash brake light,do I access it through the trunk or from inside the car?

Push the brake light housing down and slide it towards the passenger side about 1/4" to 1/2" then lift up slowly and gently and pull towards you. It is clipped in and if you're too hard, the clips could break. Then the cover comes off along with the assembly and you just twist the old bulb out

Turn signal does not work on passenger side rear. When you turn it on flashes on dash fast. Think it could be fuse but no diagram of fuse box under hood where fuse box located. Tail lights work and brake...

HI. Click here to view a troubleshooting page, that will help isolate the issue. The likely culprit will be the Flasher.

The flasher unit can be found under the dash panel attached to a bracket on the right side steering column opening reinforcement. On some models, the flasher plugs into the fuse panel.

The flasher can be removed by pressing the plastic retaining clip and pulling straight rearward. Align the new flasher housing with bracket and push forward until it snaps into the bracket

Click Here to view the fuse box layout picture.

The mounting of the fuse panel is either on the left side of the passenger compartment, under the dash, on the side kick panel or on the firewall to the left of the steering column. Certain models will have the fuse panel exposed while other models will have it covered with a removable trim cover.
