Normally when the alternator is downpowered for any reason(fails) and all thats left is battery voltage /power, you get the light..take the car to a local autozone or advance store and they will test the system for free..or you can start the car and put a voltmeter on it and see what it reads..should show at least 14.5 volts, if not then its replacement time..good luck

My battery light to my 2003 Nissan Altima 3.5 has been coming on and at times has flashed off and on rapidly. What may be causing this issue?

There are several potential issues that could cause the battery light to come on and flash rapidly in your 2003 Nissan Altima 3.5. Some possible causes include:
  1. A failing alternator: The alternator is responsible for charging the battery, if it is not working properly, it may not be able to keep the battery charged, causing the light to come on.
  2. A failing battery: If the battery is not holding a charge, the light will come on.
  3. Loose or corroded battery terminals: These can prevent the battery from charging properly and will cause the battery light to come on.
  4. A problem with the charging system: A problem with the voltage regulator or wiring can prevent the battery from charging properly, causing the light to come on.
  5. A problem with the battery sensor: A problem with the sensor that monitors the battery could be causing the light to come on.

My lights are flickering like the security system is going off but will still start

If your lights are flickering like a security system is going off, but your car will still start, it is possible that there is an issue with your car's electrical system. Here are a few possible causes of this issue:
  1. Weak battery: A weak battery can cause flickering lights and may still have enough power to start your car.
  2. Loose or corroded battery cables: Loose or corroded battery cables can cause a poor connection between the battery and the car's electrical system, resulting in flickering lights.
  3. Faulty alternator: The alternator is responsible for charging the battery and powering the car's electrical system. If the alternator is faulty, it may not be providing enough power to keep the lights from flickering.
  4. Electrical grounding issue: An electrical grounding issue can cause the electrical system to behave erratically, including flickering lights.
If you are experiencing this issue, it is recommended that you take your car to a qualified mechanic for a diagnosis and repair. They can perform tests to determine the cause of the issue and provide the necessary repairs to resolve it.

1999 Sentra Battery Drain

The most common cause of battery drains is that one of the interior lights is on, check the visors if they are lights and the glove box light under hood and trunk lights, check the interior at night to see if any lights are on, the next step is that the Alternator has a failed diode and is causing a draw. Also have the battery tested for a bad cell, that to will draw the battery low.

Which one is the fuse for the inside lights? the inside lights stay on the whole time and i need to change it! plus is causing my battery to die

Your inside lights are staying on
If the fuse was blown they would be off
So forget the fuse.
Why would you replace a good fuse with
another good fuse?

It is not causing your battery to die
The problem that causes your light to
stay on is the cause of the battery drain

We can't diagnose or guess over the
internet, you need help from a friend or
repair shop

My brake light and battery light stays on when driving. Also emergency brake does not work.

OK, the brake light is caused most likely by the emergency brake cable being broken, and the pedal or brake lever is not in position.

Also, the brake light could be caused by low brake fluid level. Check that, too.

Battery light, is caused by the charging system not working, like a bad alternator or shorted out battery, or both.

I would have these issues repaired before driving any distance.

Red battery warning light

Have the alternator and battery checked.
If the alternator isn't charging, that would cause the light to come on.
If the battery is bad and not holding a charge, do to a weak or dead cell, that would also cause the light to come on.

Battery goes dead overnight

This could indicate a weak battery or a drain caused by some electrical circuit turned on. Some parts stores will run a free battery check for you. You don't mention your location or the age of the battery, (Cold weather may cause problem to be more obvious.) Make sure all your lights are off - a trunk light or glove box light could stay on because of a stuck switch. Make sure nothing is plugged into the lighter that would cause a drain.

Something killing the battery

check for any lights staying at night, dome lights, sun visor lights for vanity mirror, glove box lights and so on, also have the battery tested, a bad cell can cause the battetry to run itself low, any Autozone or Kragen will test the battery for free.
