Can you give more details leading up to problem, such as how vehicle was running when it last started and ran, and any previous symptoms before no start? Engine size as well please.

SOURCE: How to change the serpentine belt on '98 Plymouth Breeze?

All you need is a long prubar (or you can rent a tensioner wrench at the parts store) essentially a open end wrench with a 3 ft handle.
Put the tensioner wrench on the nub of the tensioner and pull back... this will release the tension on the old belt. Remove it from one of the pulleys, and then from the entire system.
Note how it is routed through the pulleys, and put the new one on the same way.
The car should have a sticker on the radiator support telling you the path of the belt.

Open the air filter container. Spray some starting fluid in and see if it starts. If it starts, it is the fuel filter or fuel pump or both.

SOURCE: oil leak in a 98 plymouth breeze 2.0

I've had a 1990 Acclaim, a 1990 Shadow, and a 1998 Breeze, all have a head gasket leak. The Breeze was the only one to have oil leak and it was on the rear of the engine. I'd guess that's your problem.

Yes, I had this on my 97 Stratus....could be a couple of things....one, the there may be damage to the wire connector harness going to that sensor. That was the problem with mine. I replaced the cam sensor, crank sensor, coil pack, mas sensor..etc...it ended up being a burnt spot on the wire harness. They said this is a common problem for the stratus/breeze/cirrus/intrepid.....the most it could be is a bad ECM....there is a bad pin on it located half way down the side where the big connector is. It is the silver block with the big wire harness going to it in the engine compartment. Try wiggling that around...the harness area.

My 1999 Plymouth breeze wont start

Fuel, spark, air is the fire triangle... You're unfortunately missing one of those... Try simply waiting for a long time an hour or so and jump starting the car if necessary.... my guess is that you may have flooded the engine with repeated failed attempts to start the engine. That means there is too much gas and the plugs can't spark because they're too wet with fuel...

ECM FOR 1996 Plymouth breeze located

I would suggest a repair shop

If you can't find it ---you most likely don't
know it needs to be replaced & have done
no testing to find the real vehicle problems

You replace it & the vehicle won't start, then what?

Starts rough then when shut off take time to start again and if i show down she start to stall

You have to look at vehicle data & do some testing.

You can't ask someone what anything is, on any product,
a guess isn't how things are figured out.

You could have a worn out fuel pump or a long over due
timing belt issue

I have a 1996 Plymouth Breeze... That won't start,

Hi, this sounds like a bad fuel pump. I would have the fuel pressure checked. Sometimes Autozone will let you borrow a fuel pressure gauge to check your fuel pressure. Just unscrew the cover from the pressure port on the fuel rail and screw on the pressure gauge. Put a rag over your hand while screwing it on to avoid getting fuel sprayed around. Lay the gauge in a safe place and start the car. Read the gauge, record the reading, turn the car off and remove the gauge. If the pressure is less than 35 psi, you need a new fuel pump. Please let me know if you have questions, and thanks for using FixYa.

How does a Plymouth breeze drive on long distance travels. ??

That's a ten year old vehicle isn't it?

Not a top of the line car to begin with

I don't know, but I wouldn't buy one

Should be a Mitsubishi in there, you
don't want that. The timing belt will go
the second day you have it & the transaxles
are junk

98 plymouth breeze.. i was driving my car and when i started to slow down the car jerked real hard and the check engine light came on. What could it be?

Thanks for choosing FixYa and welcome to the sight. Since your check engine light is on, you need to have it scanned at Autozone or Advanced. It is on because your computer detected a problem with the car. To be honest, there are a hundred different things that can cause this light to come on. They will scan it for free and they can tell you exactly why it is on. By doing it this way, you will save time and money because you won't be guessing at parts and waisting money on parts you don't need.

I started my car this morning, 96 Plymouth Breeze, to let it warm up before I left & when I came back out it had quit running. I tried to start it again & it wouldn't start & it isn't the...

There are several potential solutions for this problem.

Your best bet would be to start by checking that you have fuel and the fuel pump is operating, then check at each spark plug to ensure you have spark to each cylinder.

You can further diagnose after those things have been checked.
