The reason the ABS light is on is the system was not properly bled... Did you bench bleed the master?Sometimes the air is tough to get out so be persistant if that doesnt work you might have to have the system pressure bled...But prior to paying for that bleed the entire brake system starting with the passengr rear wheel then drivers then passengr frnt and then driver ...But be sure to start at the master cylinder...When bleeding the system never push the peddle fast or all the way to the floor if you can help it this actually can cause the big air bubbles to brake up to small ones making it harder to get the system back to original condition.....Good Luck

Please rate my answer cause it really helps with future diagnostics....Thanx

One or two things make sure the float in the resivior is not stuck and the wire is pluged up,or make sure you bleed the master cylinder.and also you may have to bleed the brakes as well.hope this helped

WHY DOES MY ABS AND BRAKE LIGHTS STAY ON?

brake and abs light check brake fluid level. The round float in the master cylinder directly controls the 2 dash lights.
The light is NOT directly controlled by the master cylinder float. The light is controlled by the ABS Module, which location depends on your vehicle. There are a number of different reasons the lights come on. If it comes on but shuts back off within seconds, don't worry about it, that occasionally happens when it gets a bad signal ("nonlatching error"). In rear-wheel-drive (RWD) vehicles, it is common for the differential speed sensor in the rear differential to go bad. You can pick up a Haynes manual to find if you can do at-home diagnostics (Temporarily grounding out the diagnostic lead will cause the ABS light to flash out a pattern indicating the error)

Check the Brake Pressure switch ( also known as SPEED CONTROL DEACTIVATION SWITCH ) which is located below the Brake fluid master cylinder for leakage. The leakage can cause both lights to stay on and also cruise control control not working

2003 GMC HD 2500 Brakes are locking up while driving. I have had to loosen the brake line at the master cylinder to be able to move the truck. This is the 3rd time this has happened. HELP

sounds like the serov on the brake system has gone could be the abs side or the master cylinder its self. with engine running can you hear a hissing sound from the master cylinder. ??

Vt commodore problems My 98 VT wagon has real

run a fault code reader to reset the abs and trac lights as the trac light uses the same sensor as the abs.. IF the pedal is still soft then there is still air in the brake system. You may have to crack the lines at the master cylinder first and bleed there first then start at the longest line and work back to the shortest

Abs light iluminated...1998 ford 150 lariot truck . Installed new brakes and routers and no miles were put on after. Now When I start it. abs light stays on?

Ford uses a sensor for brake fluid, to test disconnect from Master Cylinder and connect the leads together. If light goes out, replace the sensor.

Abs light comes on & stays on. no brake one time, replaced master cylinder@Midas. light still comes on & brake pedal somestimes goes close to floor . kind of spongy

Your brake pedal needs adjusting! And your brakes need to be replaced! Did the people @ midas look for any air bubbles while they replaced the Master cylinder? Did they get them out? Did they even look at the brakes? All of them?

BRAKE BOOSTER?

A bad brake booster will result in a hard brake pedal, stiff and more effort required to stop the truck. Here are my questions to you, first, you said you replaced the master cylinder, did you bench bleed it before you installed it? If not, there IS still air in it, regardless of how much you bleed the brakes at the wheels. Second, when you bled the brakes, after changing the calipers and master cyl., did you also bleed the proportioning valve? Sometimes air can get trapped in the valve, and its almost impossible to get it out bleeding just the wheels. And lastly, when the brake light comes on, does the abs light also come on with it? Air can also get trapped in the abs control module too.

Abs/brakes

That is caused by a Faulty Brake Master Cylinder.
