30% sounds like an awful lot but yes, that does work.
I would suggest a diesel fuel additive instead. gasoline ignites
really fast in a diesel ,too much will cause damage.

Would it do harm to any part of the engine on my peugeot 407 hdi if i put 4,gallons of kerosine mixed with 4 gallons of diesel ?

No your car will run fine on Kerosine or heating oil. Slightly ******* though as there is duty on diesel fuel and none on kerosine or heating oil, but people do it. Don't use agricultural or marine red diesel as that has a dye in it and they can take your vehicle.

I have toyota nadia 1azfse car that cant start but if i put some petro in the manfold it start then dies

You haven't supplied much information.

The common rail system, while technically correct when describing a typical petrol engine is usually used to describe the more modern type of diesel engine.

It isn't a good idea to put petrol down the inlet manifold of a diesel engine.
This test when applied to a petrol engine proves the ignition system is in working order and the timings and the compressions are reasonably fit for purpose. The test would be better performed by an ether spray.

It seems the fuel in your car is not finding its way to the cylinders.
Possible reasons are the fuel pump fuse, relay, wiring or the pump itself. A blocked filter or fuel line is possible.

An electrical or electronic fault could be preventing injection even if sufficient fuel is available at sufficient pressure.
Certainly a systematic process should be gone through in order to discover the cause of your problem.

Diesel needs to have high viscosity oil. Diesel engines get hot and when the heat gets high the oil gets denser. Stay with the 10/40

How do i put diesel into my ford mondeo from a diesel container when it has a security feature which prevents syphoning and therefore will not take a plastic nozzle??

You will find the diesel pump at the petrol station have slim nozzles that release the safety feature and the other petrol types a wider nozzle thus preventing you from putting the incorrect fuel in your tank. Your spare tyre compartment should contain a special funnel to use that releases the safety catch for you to fill from a can.

2001 vw golf gt tdi is struggling to start when cold and sometimes hot..when started it struggles 2 stay ticking over at 900 revs...what can i do??please help

golfs coldstart system works when you open door/shut door/put key in hole and turn on (in that order)if you delay puting belt on for longer than say 30 secs the coils go cold, hence poor starting.if engine labours after cold start try using (really)one gallon of petrol in tank to clean injectors.
british army put petrol (30%)in diesel tanks of challenger tanks in arctic
to stop fuel freezing.....most parts replacement jockeys in garages will say if you put diesel in tank it will have to flushed out.lot of bollocks.
trust me.have put petrol in by mistake loads of times, only get hot start
problems if you put in too much.

Location of Fuel Relays - Misubishi Galant

In my experience, the relay is situated behind the left hand kick panel inside the vehicle. It is usually called the circuit opening relay and can have 4 or 6 pins. The panel is the one which covers the left hand door hinges adjacent to the left foot of who ever is sitting in the left hand seat.
Some mitsubishi's have the relay mounted above the ECU, behind the glove box so check there too..

90 ford escort 1.9 no fuel to the fuel injector, fuel pump works

Try adding some amount of carb cleaner to clear the nozzle of the injectors. If the sound of the engine improves, add more cleaner.

Another possibility is that air is trapped in the pipeline forming an airlock somewhere between the fuel tank & the pump. Bleed it free & then try it out.

Check the same line for any bloackage........................sodeep

Petrol instead of diesel

This is not quite recommended, and to do a 100% job, you should really drain the tank, and refill with just diesel, and renew the fuel filter.

But if it is running acceptably, drive it gently, and keep refilling with diesel.

Good Luck !

Don´t forget to give me a FixYa rating please.
