1999 buick custom century odometer light has gone out. what is the cost to repair? is there a simple way to repair or replace the lighting?

Wrong! Non of the above. I just fixed that problem. The problem is loose resistors on the instrument cluster's printed circuit board. It is four bigger resistors parallel to each other. Re solder them and your odometer cluster is back to perfect.

SOURCE: the odometer on my 2002
This is typically related to faulty or disconnected resistors located on the circuit board of the instrument cluster as the odometer does not contain removable bulbs.(it is LED) There are a few how to videos on youtube to replace the bad resistors, and it seems to be the best solution for most who have this problem. The resistors cost around .99 cents for a 5 pack and is sure to save you hundreds of dollars if you can re-solder them them yourself. Here is a link to 1 of the how to vids on youtube for 1997-2004 Buick Regal: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=84FAjLxoK00
