Re: Do i have to use synthetic oil on my 2006 lexus...
U do not have to use synthetic oil but I recommend u do if u plan to drive the car for 100,000 miles or more, syn oil almost eliminates engine wear, if u use it change the oil and filter every 5,000 miles

slow starting in colder weather can be due to many issues. such as dirty or wet ignition sytem or low battery charge. if you live in colder climate you may need to change your oil to a thinner one for cold tempretures.
also check that exaust pipe is not blocked, air filter is clean and fuel filter is not blocked.
you will get conficting views on this but Toyota worldwide use fully synthetic from new out of the factory.BUT in Europe use semi synthetic for 20k service intervals...personally I would use fully synthetic untill 75k then semi after.and change the oil/filter every 10k.my own car has over 300k and uses a pint every 10k,which is acceptable.
AMSOIL or Mobil 1 synthetic oils. Either one. AMSOIL claims to be the best but...in order to meet the standards "all" manufacturers of synthetic oils have to have the minimum oil content mixture to achieve the quality standards.
SJ or SL or ILSAC 5W-30 is the manufacturers recommended engine oil.
