3.3l engine. What are the probable causes of DTC P1495?

answer courtesy of engine codes .com Engine-Codes OBDII Code List P1495 Dodge
P1495 Dodge P1495 Dodge - EVAP Leak Detection Pump Solenoid Circuit Condition 3 ' Add Comment Possible causes
- Faulty Leak Detection Pump (LDP)
- Leak Detection Pump (LDP) harness is open or shorted
- Leak Detection Pump (LDP) poor electrical connection
What does this mean? When is the code detected?
Malfunction is detected when the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) detected the pump solenoid did not change status when activated,
Possible symptoms
- Engine Light ON (or Service Engine Soon Warning Light)
- Possible a noticeable fuel odor caused by the release of fuel vapors
P1495 Dodge Description
The Evaporative emissions system is design to prevent the escape of fuel vapors from the fuel system. Leaks in the system, ca allow vapors to escape into the atmosphere. The leak detection system tests for EVAP system leaks and blockage.
During the self-diagnostics, the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) first checks the Leak Detection Pump (LDP) for electrical and mechanical faults. If the first checks pass, the PCM then uses the LDP to seal the vent valve and pump air into the system to pressurize it. If a leak is present, the PCM will continue pumping the LDP to replace the air that leaks out. The PCM determines the size of the leak based on how fast/long it must pump the LDP as it tries to maintain pressure in the system.

What is a P2404 code mean from a suzuki sx4

Trouble Code: P2404 (2.0L L4 VIN 5 Automatic CVT)
Evaporative Emission System Leak Detection Pump Sense Circuit Range / Performance
Number of Trips to Set Code: 1
Trouble Code Conditions:
EVAP vent valve stuck open: EVAP leak check pressure is lower than -0.14 kPa even if EVAP vent valve is operated from OFF (OPEN) to ON (CLOSE) with EVAP leak detection pump ON. EVAP vent valve stuck closed: EVAP leak check pressure is unstable (difference between maximum and minimum is 0.36 kPa or more) when EVAP vent valve is OFF (OPEN) with EVAP leak detection pump ON. EVAP leak detection pump stuck OFF: EVAP leak check pressure is higher than -0.14 kPa even if EVAP leak detection pump is ON. EVAP leak detection pump flow high: Reference pressure of EVAP leak check pressure is lower than specified value (depending on BARO) EVAP leak detection pump flow Low: Reference pressure of EVAP leak check pressure is higher than specified value (depending on BARO).
Possible Causes:
  • EVAP leak detection pump (in EVAP leak check module) and/or its circuit
  • EVAP vent valve (in EVAP leak check module) and/or its circuit
  • EVAP leak check module and/or its circuit
  • ECM

Engine light stays on code p1494

P1494 code is a leak detection pump switch or mechanical fault, leak detection pump switch does not respond to input. The leak detection pump (if equipped) is located under the air filter housing on models through 2001. Check if the vapor and vacuum lines are securely connected to the leak detection pump or a diagonstic trouble code my be set like this. The leak detection pump switch may be bad and need replaced.

How do i replace the natural vacuum leak detection pump on a 2005 dodge dakota?

Vehicles equipped with NGC engine control modules use an NVLD pump and system. Vehicles equipped with JTEC engine control modules use a leak detection pump. Refer to Leak Detection Pump (LDP) for additional information.
The Natural Vacuum Leak Detection (NVLD) system is the next generation evaporative leak detection system that will first be used on vehicles equipped with the Next Generation Controller (NGC). This new system replaces the leak detection pump as the method of evaporative system leak detection. This is to detect a leak equivalent to a 0.020 (0.5 mm) hole. This system has the capability to detect holes of this size very dependably.

Removal & Installation
  1. Raise and support vehicle.
  2. Remove left-rear tire.
  3. Remove plastic shield (4) in front of left-rear tire. Access to both the EVAP canister (1) and NVLD pump (6) is from the area in front of the removed tire.
  4. Disconnect electrical connector at NVLD pump.
  5. Remove vapor line at NVLD pump. Pry outward on tab (3) and rotate pump (6) clockwise about 70 for removal.
  6. Remove NVLD pump O-ring (5) from EVAP canister (1).
To Install:
  1. Install new NVLD pump O-ring (5) to EVAP canister (1).
  2. Position NVLD pump (6) into EVAP canister (1).
  3. Rotate pump (6) until tab aligns with notch in EVAP canister (1).
  4. Carefully install vapor/vacuum lines to NVLD pump.
WARNING The vapor/vacuum lines and hoses must be firmly connected. Check the vapor/vacuum lines at the NVLD pump, filter and EVAP canister purge solenoid for damage or leaks. If a leak is present, a Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) may be set.
  5. Connect electrical connector to pump.
  6. Install plastic shield in front of left-rear tire.
  7. Install left-rear tire.

What is the diagnostic codes P 0700 P1684 p0442 p0455 p0456 on a 2001 dodge Caravan with a 3 3"

P0700: EATX Controller DTC present
P1684: Battery was desconnected
P0442: EVAP leak monitor medium (.040). Leak detected.
P0455:
EVAP leak monitor large. Leak detected.
P0456: EVAP leak monitor small (.020). Leak detected.

I suggest check the lines and flow it down to the ldp (leak detection pump) that is just behind the steering gear under the van It has a wire connector and 2 large EVAP hoses. look for any split or crack then follow the lines back to the tank. Even a small crack is a leak.

Hope helped with this. Remember rated this help. Good luck.

Which is it? Carburetor ice or water in gas?

Hmmm.. Your van has No carburator.. Its direct multiport fuel injection.. It sounds like you have excessive moisture in the tank and lines.. Id try a new fuel filter..
