SOURCE: Glow PLugs and Relays

Good Day
The glow plug relays are located on the right front shock tower. Remove the cover and you will see two relays If I remember I think they are round, but not sure.

Please let me know how you make out and if there is anything else that I might be able to help you with.

Cheers

not all hdi injectors are the same and there are some tricks to replacing the injectors so be careful as you can cause saver damage to your engine if not done correctly.
as the other gye said it may be a turbo pipe but Peugeots being Peugeot it could be any thing your best bet is take it into a dealer and get them to put it on the PPS to diagnos it properly

what voltage u getting ?. did it just stop and then not restart. if its getting fuel and glow plugs are working the next two items id look at is the cam shaft and crank shaft position sencors. also make sure ur battery is in good condition, so starter motor is turning fast enough to build up the correct pressure on the rail.

I have a Peugeot 405 SRDT 1996. The engine is hard to start, ie the cranking time on the starter motor is about 20 seconds before it fires. I think that the glow plugs are not working. Does any one know...

There is a fuse and also a relay. Your fuse box or power distribution box(maybe under the hood) which could also house the relay. Take a test light and check for power at the glow plugs them selves and work backwards towards the power source. If you have power right at the glow plugs, take the plugs out and see if they heat up. You will have to check for power during the waiting period for the plugs to heat up.

Firstly fit a manual overide to the heater plugs .relay -push button type switch -wire -connectors ,run a wire direct from battery to relay ,other side to heater plug relay output so it feeds all the heaters ,push button inside cab with a 12v feed from ignition switch running to relay then other side of relay to earth ,leave vehicle on charge often on trickle charge where possible ,also on a full tank of diesel put in a litre of petrol to stop diesel waxing up ,nice old rug or blanket over engine and it will first time every time ,only use the petrol when weather below minus 5c though ,great vehicles these peugeots but i do like my ford transit

The glow plug light is constantly on the dash on my peugeot

check the glow pulg relay, this may be bad, i would start there first, once the car is started theres no need for glow plugs they are used to start the car and thats it,when the light is on test to see if the glow plugs are getting power if so check the wiring and relay, this is not good for the glow plugs to be powered up so long, that rely must be cooked.
