How much transmission fluid did you add? In the old days adding a quart of tranny fluid to the engine oil was used to loosen valve springs etc...only running a day or 2 then draining completely..and refilling with quality engine oil...If you only added a quart...you need to drain all the oil as if doing a regular oil change...do change the filter too...you should be just fine...don't put this off.
Can't give you an exact number but I can tell you how to find out. I will asume that you are changing you oil and filter? After putting the oil plug and filter on put three quarts of oil in and start engine; after oil light goes off, turn engine off and let set for about 5 minutes, then check oil; if it is not on the low mark of dip stick add another quart, start engine, stop engine, let set for a couple of minutes and check again. By now you should either be at or above the low line and just add enough oil to top it off at the full line. I would guess that about 4 1/2 to 5 quarts is what you will need. Hope this helps, P. Ford
On the 2.4, 3.75quarts with filter change. On the 3.3 with 4wd, 4.125 quarts(2wd 3.75 quarts) Best way to do it however, Once you've drained and refitted the plug, fill with about 3 quarts. Start up and let it idle about a minute. Shut down and let it stand a minute. Check the level. It should be between the two marks on the dipstick. If not add a pint of oil. Let it stand another minute and check again. Repeat until the level is between the 2 marks on the dipstick. It takes time for new oil to drain to the sump. Hence the 1 minute waiting period. If you changed the filter, it needs to be refilled by oil pump, which is why you need to let it idle about a minute. Do NOT rev the motor directly after an oil change in order to clear the oil warning light earlier. Just let it idle.
NOTE these are updated capacities that reflect changes identified in TSB: TSB-0134-08 issued July 15, 2008. Your owners manual will reflect a lesser quantity that Toyota has since revised.
it is very easy to change the oil put the car on ramps secure the back end look for the drain plug underneath the engine make sure you have the right size wrench and when you remove the plug also check the gasket on the plug to make sure it is not cracked you will also need an oil filter wrench and my other suggestion to you is to go to autozone to see if they have a Haynes repair manual for your car and if they don't see if they can order you one in the mean time they can also print you off a diagram of how to change the oil in you car safely
Regarding the transmission, if you have an automatic, use genuine Honda ATF fluid only and only do a drain and refill. A power flush will damage the Honda Transmission. It should be drained and refilled every 60k initially, then every 30k afterwards.
