Your clock spring is bad if you have cruise control it probably doesn't work either. its easy to replace your self a new one costs about $250.00 I got a used one at apick your own parts junk yard for $25.00.You can get a step by step how to replace it if you search clock spring replacement. Their also was a recall on some of them check with adealer

SOURCE: Cruise control, and radio controls on steering wheel, now air bag

The problem is the coiled ribbon contact under the steering wheel (we call it the clock-spring contact) that connects the stereing wheel controls to the steering column wiring harness, this is a printed circuit that is coiled to allow the wheel to move and still have a psychical contact for the wheel switch's and the airbag, anyway replace that contact coil, u must disarm the airbag to do this repair, follow the factory procedure to do this or serious injury can result if the airbag fires.

SOURCE: air blowing warm in 2001 dodge dakota

get the a/c condensor recharged with a freon substitute, i use "red-tek 12a refrigerant", it is much safer than freon and is ozone friendly.

Dodge dakota cruise control and horn quit working

All cars are a bit different. I suggest you look at a Chilton's Repair Manual available in most large public libraries to get an idea. Air bags are not that easy to deploy by accident unless you get a bit vigorous with tools. Usually the cover just pries off exposing the horn mechanism. The removal of the air bag assembly is best left to experts. I highly recommend the purchase of the Haynes Repair manual for your car; at $27 its well worth the investment. It will provide the technical detail and tools list to be able to do 98% of all repairs. A service technician charges $50-$75 an hour, so the savings alone in the first use of the book will be worth the detailed solution. A new air bag unit costs $350 to $600 depending upon make and model, so it a decision not taken lightly. Sorry I can't provide you more info.

I have a 2001 dakota SLT 4.7L the air bag light is on the horn does not work and the cruze control is now now not working! what could it be that is wrong?

you could have a problem with the clock spring in the steering wheel.this can cause these symptoms as they use a ribbon to make contact to operate the circuits.you should have it checked for codes and data at a shop that has the equipment to do the job.

Crue control stoped working 2005 Dodge caravan

Hello! I would say it is most likely the clock spring inside the steering wheel behind the air bag. This is what provides power to the wheel and air bag itself. This could also cause your horn not to work and possibly illuminate the air bag light as well. Very common problem. Let me know if this helps or if you have any more questions
