Question about Cars & Trucks
My check engine light came on today and it stayed on the hole time I was driving do you no what it could be thanks
Quite a few things can cause the computer to turn on this light. Without the OBDII problem codes, it's anyones guess. However, there is one simple thing that can cause this and make you say "Oh for stupid" (or more colorful things...) Check the cap on your gas tank and make sure it's on correctly....... Dont ask me how i know this!!!!

make sure that the gas cap have a rubber gasket in it if it has accidentaly dropped off while you removed to fill the tnk it will not seal properly and create a vacum leak causing the ecm to turn on the light.
or did you have an accident or did you run over any thing that could have damaged the vapor canister at the bottom of the vehicle and if this is the case you will see the light on because a damaged canister can cause a vacum leak

SOURCE: check engine light
This is not really a big problem, it only alerts you that there might be an issue. Take the car for a scan which will reveal any issue at hand.
Please rate this fixya.
